Where is the best Village to look at for a woman that wants to be near shopping, dining, and entertainment? Is it best to rent before I purchase?

I'm new to this forum and I'm looking into possibly moving to and retiring at The Villages in December 2017. I have booked a stay to visit and look around The Villages in December 2016. I look forward to learning more about The Villages before making a decision on where to purchase or rent a home. I do not golf or play games, but I enjoy going to shows, dining out, shopping, traveling, and spending time with my children and grandchildren. I am a Navy Veteran.
