I am currently considering purchasing a home in TV but I would only live there during the winter and spend summers in my current home. While it is fairly easy to calculate the cost of purchasing a home I would like to hear some input on the cost of maintaining the home during the 6-8 months that I am not there.

My wife and I are considering buying in TV. We have visited several times but are currently living in the Chicago area. We have found a home, on the Internet, that we might want to look seriously at but I have a couple of questions. The home backs up to a lake and I would like to know the Pros/Cons of living on the lake. Does the property line go all the way to the water or does it stop a set distance from the Lake. Is the shoreline open to the public? Should I have any flooding concerns since the lake looks like it is not much lower than the house? Any way we would appreciate any thoughts.
