No matter where you live. Whether in Florida and any state the taxes are determined by county and region. So you cannot say well who makes the rules. Each county and area makes their own tax rates. It was like that when we live up north same down here. School taxes are a given, they were paid by retirees up north just like they are down here, It's just a given. Like it or not. Someone paid for your kids education via school taxes, now it's out turn.

Ok so do not let the other communities outside of The Villages tell youlthey are a true gated community. You can go into any of the other communities and go there to play golf or eat dinner at their restaurant. They give you a different colored pass. Once you are inside you can go anywhere you want. So how gated is that. We have done that gone to have dinner and then decided to see what the community looked like compared to ours. No one stopped us or asked what we were doing riding around. So I do not feel any less secure here than the other communities are in theirs.
