No such thing as an upset in preseason.

I thought 40-9 against Tom Brady & Co. was doing well. And the Panthers/Ravens game was a hoot to watch. Panthers were like wild children all over the ball. Must've driven Flacco nuts.

Just a few seasons ago the Lions were undefeated in preseason then went 0 and 16.
They looked good last night with forcing 4 turnovers. Still under the curse of Bobby Lane. That was 56 years ago.

Few things in life are as completely meaningless as the final score of an NFL preseason game. Maybe the score after the 1st qtr ..... which is about all the starters ever play ... maybe. Even then, the coaching staff only runs a very base offense & defense and they do not "scheme" for each team they play, like a regular season game. From a starters standpoint .... they are just trying to survive and not get hurt.

Only in the last preseason game will you see starters typically play longer that 1 - 1 1/2 qtrs ... and even then ... still no game planing per se.

One thing that can be meaningful in preseason .... injures.

Actually, it's the third preseason game when the starters play the most. Everyone is deathly afraid of injuries in the fourth game so they play only the reserves. The logic is also to make final roster decisions with the scrubs. It is definitely the dumbest ticket purchase known to man.

Agreed - but most teams FORCE you to buy the 10 game season ticket package. I had to do if for 20 years with the Pats. Gave away every preseason game to friends and family.

son has season tickets available behind the bench at all home games for the lions...he believes you stand behind your team win or lose its about your team...he is big fan of all michigan teams no matter what...hates it when it becomes your team only when they are winning

Yes ... I do believe you are right, it is the 3rd not the 4th game ... just goes to show you how much attention I pay to these games.

Actually, I am finding myself paying less and less attention to all pro team sports. It insane amount of $$$$ payed to these athletes to play a game, to provide "entertainment" is ..... insane.

Yup, I had the same experience with the Jets. I complained when the made us take the preseason games with the season tickets but that went nowhere. I gave away preseason tickets and tickets to Monday night games. Had to be to work way to early to stay at the Meadowlands until the wee hours of the A.M.

NFL package is cool but who has time to watch the whole game(s)? I'm sure that you've experienced NFL redzone by now, best 7 hours of programming on tv if you like the NFL.
