Orange Blossom Hills vs Lake Sumter
OK - I don't live there yet, so bear with me. Why is there seemingly a separate document for Orange Blossom Hills? Does the Lake Sumter document cover everything else in the Villages or are there others?

Each village has a separate set of covenants and restrictions. The original villages, Orange Blossom Hills (and Village of Silver Lake) established in the seventies, was on the eastern side of 441/27 and was essentially a mobile home retirement community. When TV expanded to the west side of 441/27 in the nineties, it quickly evolved to site built homes and the restrictions were modified to keep in synch with the changing times and preferences.
A prime example is that the statues and pink flamingoes that were popular in older mobile home communities are allowed in Orange Blossom Hills, but not in the newer villages. Although there are minor differences in the restrictions of each village, generally the Orange Blossom Hills document is indicative of the older historical side and the Lake Sumter document, the newer villages. |
