There is a color palette for each district. You can find that at the villages office above Starbucks in Lake SumterLanding. I have the colors on my phone for the Village of Pinellas. I’m sure you’ll find something you like.

Default Color palettes

I can't believe this hasn't been posted before.

I hunted all over for the acceptable colors for my village, and when I called the CDD to ask where to find it online, they even told me I had to go look at the palettes hanging on the wall at the CDD office in Sumter.

So I went there, and while I was taking pictures, the nice lady mentioned that they were all online. So I asked her to show me. It was right there on the Community Standards page, right next to the ARC review form download. Doh!

Anyone who paints their home and doesn't get ARC approval is foolish. Most painting companies like Kling will do it for you and if you want to DIY, its simple and quick. Always save the paperwork and that includes any permits you get for anything you do in your home that requires a permit.

I don't believe that page existed back in late 2024 when I submitted my application though I do remember the Courtyard Villa information.

In any case, it looks like they have added some other good information to the Community Standards page as well. Thanks for pointing this out.

First off DO NOT believe everything you read here after your post. I'm sure they are correct, but why take that chance? Go straight to the ARC to get the information you want. NEVER rely on anything you read here.

I believe this *IS* going straight to the source of the information (Community Standards, not the ARC)

I agree that its likely best to check first. Our home was built in 2002, we purchased in 2022 and looked into getting it repainted the same color as it is now (original paint color I'm told). Went to the Villages office to see if we need approval to repaint same color. Was told we did not, but I asked to confirm the original paint color and was informed they don't keep that info more than 15 years. [So how could they enforce whatever color I decide if they have no evidence of what it was?]. In any event, I do not plan to change the color anyway, but the website previously cited does not have info on older homes and neither does the Villages.

Do yourself and a future buyer a favor and get ARC approval for whatever paint you use. If a complaint is filed the onus will not be on the ARC to prove you changed the color, it will be on you to prove that you did not and that will be very difficult if you do not know the original color.

Filling out and submitting the request for approval is very easy - fighting a violation is not.
