There are many shelters that offer opportunities to rescue a lovable little doggy.
Some have puppies. Or you can adopt an older dog that comes toilet trained and walks nicely on a leash.
www.petfinders.com allows you to specify a breed. Or you could google maltese rescues in Florida.
Please think rescue. There are small doggies that would be forever grateful for a loving home.
Some rescue organizations don't have a shelter, all the dogs are in foster homes.
Some visit The Villages weekly with their available dogs.

Please visit The Humane Society of Sumter County HSSPCA.org and see the wonderful dogs we have available for adoption. We are located in Lake Panasoffkee 20 minutes from the Villages.
