1 million out of 330 million Americans have had it so now we are safe?
Anyone in a high risk group should stay home. Do you mean all Villagers over 65?
Some great thoughts.

I will add to your comments the most " Naïve " panic situation with so many it is really disappointing.

I would think that the senior population here would have a better inspiration to others instead of being in a panic mode.

All of you should be ashamed of yourselves sure it is terrible honestly get a grip.

Look back at 1914-18 War,

The Great Depression 1929-30's

Then World War II.

1) The rec department is saving money by not allowing people to use recreation facilities; any savings should go back to those being denied usage;
2) Germophobe is an understatement for those who love to dictate and control others' behavior;
3) Keeping healthy people locked up inside is actually harming the population;
3) Being told to grow up by someone posting boxing emojis is laughable.

It is confusing at times the tennis courts are next to the pickleball courts in some areas it is kind of cozy an errant tennis ball and the same with a pickleball ball.

We smile and well here is your ball and have a Tennis vs Pickleball attitude grrr.

My question to the Tennis Community when was the last time you had a State Wide Senior Tournament if ever in The Villages vs The Pickleball Community.

Atleast 50% of the Tennis Courts should be configured to Pickleball Courts. $$ Saved

Guess you haven’t heard of the USTA? At least 10 times bigger that USPBA and hundred times more tournaments and leagues.

Now I agree where rec centers are close one needs to be tennis aNd other could to be pickleball. Saddlebrook and laurel manor good example. Make saddle brook tennis courts all pickleball ( that would be 12 courts total) and laurel manor all tennis ( would be three courts. ) I sure there are other examples like down canal street that has three rec center with tennis and pickleball side by side.

There lots of tennis players in villages, lot of pickleball players are ex-tennis players. Tennis lot more demanding and way higher learning curve. Takes months or years for some just to be able to rally point, let along serve. Pickleball like horseshoes, anybody can dink ball Or pitch ball over the net or step two or three steps left and right or too net.

Pickleball will never be big as tennis. Even if it ever makes it to national level and want TV coverage they will have to get rid of the side outs. Takes too long to complete game and all that dinking boring. Name one televised sports that has side outs now?

Age has nothing to do with the risk factor. For example a 90 year old in perfect health is not in the risk category.

That example has been repeated over, and over ………….and over.

But, when some spits on the course and you’re ball dribbles through it you just touch the inside of there mouth with you hand. Yes odds are astonishing, but not zero.

Based on what we know now, those at high-risk for severe illness from COVID-19 are:

People 65 years and older
People who live in a nursing home or long-term care facility

From the CDC
COVID-19 is a new disease and there is limited information regarding risk factors for severe disease. Based on currently available information and clinical expertise, older adults and people of any age who have serious underlying medical conditions might be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19.
