Just like our courts here, pickleball is overcrowded/popular, tennis courts are hardly used.

Now I do agree some rec centers that are close shouldn’t have pickleball or tennis. Saddlebrook and laurel manner. Saddlebrook should be pickleball only (12) courts and laurel manner should be tennis only beings they are so close. Canal street and Bacall another good example beings there so close. Then there the age problem, beings tennis is more demanding and hard on joints (if Played at high level) tennis players eventually give it up and resort to pickleball where they can still get good exercise with limited movement. Why doubles Pickleball so popular cause most can’t and don’t have the stroke for singles pickleball. World of difference in two sports. Nobody hardly ever plays horse shoes yet every rec center has them. But, still available for card paying members. Last edited by Topspinmo; 03-01-2022 at 05:45 PM. |

Many tennis courts should be converted as pickle ball is more conducive to our age group.

Many golf course should be converted to apartments, more villager’s prefer apartments over golf. I’’m guessing lopez will be the first, then glenview, and eventually palmers. Course that will be after the polo grounds converted. ![]() |

Never heard of Pickleball 'till we moved here in 2013. Game seems fine to me. Think the name should be changed to "Ktonk" for the sound of the game, which can be heard from far away. There doesn't seem to be actual pickles involved in the game at all. Could it be that someone named "Pickles" invented the game??? Inquiring minds want to know.
