A completely unrelated note: the Nebraska Cornhuskers (football team), decades ago were called BugEaters.

This is a little more related: I used to live in Omaha, NE and each spring we'd travel a couple hours out to Grand Island and Kearney along the North Platte River to watch the Sand Hill Cranes stop by. We'd see 10s of thousands at a time. It was a big money maker for the businesses up and down I-80 for a couple/three weeks each year. We'd see cars from Iowa, South Dakota, Kansas and Colorado. As silly as it may sound, it was a big deal in the mid-west. And here they walk in our back yards. Love it!!!
