Default Spring getting closer....

A rescue this morning.....butterfly was fluttering along when a mocking bird decided this beauty would be a great snack. Apparently the bird wasn't successful and the butterfly fell to the ground. Mike rescued it and set it on the lanai for a bit before taking it outside placing it under the leaves of one of our plants. It's no longer there....hopefully recovered and off doing whatever it is that butterflies do....

Cycle of life in action or should I say interrupted.

The birds are really starting to sing a lot more. Have heard red wing blackbird and cardinals making a fuss. We know it's spring tho when the mockingbirds call for mates. I used to sit on the lanai with the phone and call my mother back north so she could hear them. She got such a delight out of that.

When we lived in CA, each spring there would be a strong singing mockingbird sitting atop the roof of the house next door. Those birds were relentless in their song..singing ALL NIGHT LONG! Some years the singers were more melodic than other years..... At one point, neighbors considered buying the bird a trip to anywhere....LOLOL

Default Good news

I predict that today will be the coldest day between now and next December. In other words, winter ends today, so break out your shorts and hot weather shirts and have a great summer.

Pooh, I am so desperate for warm weather, I am prepared to risk my expert meteorology background to get it.

I'm taking you up on that! Until then, I, my neighbor, and half of TV can be found in Sam's Club.

Well, I didn't want to mention this and be dubbed Debbie Downer but a couple days ago on Sweetgum, as I was about to tee off, one lonely love bug was floating around my leg. I told him he was early and to go away.

Our back yard is covered with snow and a layer of ice on the top. There were 4 robins on the one ice covered branch of a tree. Hopefully, they know something we don't.
