Thanks for the gorgeous pictures! We've been having success raising them on our lanai. I found a big, beautiful healthy one in my closet two weeks ago. He had attached his chrysalis to something on the lanai that I had put away. What a gift!

dotti105. I plant Lantanna, zinnias and other flowers to attract the butterflies. I take a little plastic step stool into the flower bed, then sit and wait. The butterflies are "skittish" at first, then forget I am there. A bucket load of patience helps

The red and orange plant in the butterfly pictures is Asclepias curassavica, commonly known as tropical milkweed, is a flowering plant species of the milkweed genus, Asclepias. It is native to the American tropics and has a pantropical distribution as an introduced species.
You can find Milkweed at most garden centers. |
