Default Beauty In Virginia

I returned to VA after a 4 year absence, to assist a friend who is recovering from surgery. On my first day there, my friend's husband suffered a heart attack, fortunately not fatal. I was a very busy nurse to both husband AND wife, but their home is located on the bank of a beautiful lake at West Point's and Gloucester counties where I admired the view. Those of you from northern climes, will recognize the dreaded "gum ball". Nasty things will fly like bullets from a mower blade, penetrate rubber soled shoes, and generally provide allmanner of mischief

What a nice friend for going up there and taking care of your friends. Love the pics, beautiful as always. I also love your hated "gum" ball. I had a Sweet Gum tree in North FL in the early 2000's and it was the only tree that gave me magnificent fall color. I miss it and would love to have one here if I could. Hope your friends are better.

Beautiful setting, gorgeous pictures! And I do remember those gum balls, but from Pennsylvania, not Michigan.

What a good friend you are. Hopefully, it sounds like the worst of it is over.

I was raised in Gloucester, now living in the Kilmarnock area. It is beautiful here despite the gumball trees, 2 in my yard. I like to think of them as great shade trees! If you get a chance go to the Short Lane Ice Cream Store. That was my grandfather's store where I was raised. Enjoy your stay.
