Watched some live horse racing right in Oxford today. Only two horses at a time today. Recently opened. they also have a card room and simulcast horse racing.

It's an interesting place. Races are 110 yards and the horses are quarter horses.

I didn't think that the simulcast racing had started yet. My husband is looking forward to not driving to Ocala.

They were watching simulcast racing from all around the country yesterday. Don't know if they were betting on it or not.

If I remember correctly, this proposal was denied a permit to operate years back. Do not understand how it now exists without any public mention or meetings. Who approved its operation?

I was told that Sumter County denied it so they built it in Marion County. I have no idea if there was a public hearings or not.

You are correct, Sumter Co. voted it down. Marion Co. gets the tax $
