The problem is not size, but learning the correct procedure and sticking to it.
In TV getting everyone to sing off the same song sheet is the problem.

Notice that these roundabouts are MUCH larger than the ones in TV to handle greater traffic and the one around the Arc de Triomphe is considered the “the suicide run” by international drivers.

However, in defense of roundabouts, they are much safer in most accidents and they do work in moving traffic along. It is true that new places are adopting them they are just designed to consider future traffic flows as well.
