Thank you! Brings back wonderful memories for me. Love those Purple Martins (PMs) !!!! Had 50 to 60 pair colony in OKC for 15 years which fledged around 175-200 every year. I always said in OKLAHOMA PMs was hard to get and even harder to keep. In Oklahoma where starlings and English sparrows were out of control. I haven’t seen starling and few English sparrows in and around villages. Which good thing. Love the dawn song and there bubbling calls.

The one with spots on breast and darkening around neck and head juvenile male.

Question

I often wonder why birds around here don't use the Spanish Moss in their nests.
Seem like it would be a soft comfortable nest padding.
