Is that an osprey? Looks like bird of prey, but that’s all I know. You’re lucky it landed so close!

We are near a kestrel preserve, so we always call them that, but not sure

Kestrel's are the tiniest falcons. They are the ones you see at night, often on the side courtyard roads. This is not a kestrel.
