I hate to be picky, but since there is no scale to compare its size with - there is no way to tell if it is young or an older 6ft alligator. But, I do suppose that this is the time of the year that their eggs are hatching. Also, soon the geese' eggs will be hatching. Soon the famous and much-anticipated snowbird migration will begin - northward to the prime nesting areas. Just in time for high gas prices!. Gentlemen, start your engines!

According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, the courtship process for the state's more than one million alligators begins in April. Mating then happens in May or June before females build a nest and deposit about 32 to 46 eggs. After 63 to 68 days of incubation, the eggs will hatch from mid-August through early September.

It would therefore be a juvenile, but not a baby gator. Baby gators are itty bitty.

This one is gorgeous. I hope they don’t eradicate him like they have done so many other lovely gators in TV.

Saw this little guy a couple of years ago on Grey Fox. Remember, where there is a baby ... there is a mommy
