Once again

Twice today I have had to talk to irresponsible, inconsiderate pet owners that think it is perfectly OK to use my lawn as a toilet for their dogs. One owner said it was only pee, but pee will kill parts of my lawn as fast as the poop will. Hopefully this post will help to awaken other pet owners to realize this is not OK

having trouble seeing responses

Do a search on dog poop. You will find that hundreds of posts have not stopped the non-responsible owners from doing what they want.

Gosh, I hope this thread doesn't go up to a hundred posts......again.

Dog poop threads are just as predictable as love bugs.
I realize the OP is frustrated and rightly so.
However to reach the widest number of residents that currently live in TV, a better solution might be to write a letter to the editor of the Daily Sun or to the editor of the online newspaper .

OP, please let me know where you are so I can avoid the area when walking my dog. Responsible owner pick up the dog doo but there is not much you can do about the pee. Should the just pee in the street?

You should avoid any and all areas that are not your private property. If it means that they pee in the street and you don't want them to pee in your yard, so be it.

Yes. Our dog's done it on pavement or concrete many times.

The street is public, NOT private property, as the o.p.'s lawn is.

What's his is not yours!

Dogs do love those corner yards don't they? It's sort of like a two for one happy hour!

It sure is... esp if the is a hydrant or pole. Near the cub is one thing but I see people letting their dog wander way into other's yards. That is just wrong and the owners don't give a damn.

And now it's time for me to chime in with my usual, and I apologize for being repetitious ....

We need more dog parks. Dogs needs to be exercised and taken for walks.
There is only one small dog park provided for all the dogs between CR 466 and 466A, which is ridiculous.
It's on a hill behind the Bonita Fire Station.
It's small, hard to navigate because it's on a hill, and sometimes it's closed during the day.
More dog parks would be beneficial to people owning dogs.
And they would also benefit non-dog owners who don't want to see those pesky mutts anywhere near their lawns
(and I don't blame them at all).
We take our dogs daily to a private dog park and we're happy to pay for that, but not everyone is.

I have no comment. I'm just trying to jack up the number of posts. Let's go for a new record!

Wine and popcorn! I never thought of that combination. Thanks, Bonny. Everything goes better with wine!

Are you walking your dog, or toileting your dog? If you're out for exercise, try a short leash and keeping the dog in the street or on the sidewalk. If you're toileting your dog, do that in your own yard. Has worked for us.
