Actual Doggie Dining Proposed
According to a media source, dog dining at Square 1 Burgers has been proposed by Square 1 to the Wildwood City Commission.
There would be a special menu for dogs. This, of course, would only be allowed on the Outside Patio area not inside dinning. Apparently Square 1 Burgers and Bar has something similar at some of their other restaurants. I just wonder what the Servers think of such an ordinance permitting dogs to dine alongside their owners and other customers? Will they give the food directly to the dog or give it to the owner to serve the dog? Lots of public health issues and who is going to enforce the rules and regulations concerning such activities? This ordinance, if approved, will certainly elevate Fido's status in TV. :icon_wink: |
Oh my, here it goes again!

There are many reasons for, or for not, patronizing a restaurant. In this instance it is dogs permitted and dining on the patio. If I feel this is a negative I simply cross it off my dining destinations. In doing so I will make room for someone to bring their dog to dine with them.
There are dozens (hundreds) of restaurants readily available to us. They cater to numerous customer bases. One of them is catering to people who want to dine on the patio with their dogs and I feel that is no big deal. I would hope this thread does not "get ugly". Threads that turn acrimonious do great harm to our image. |

Thanks for the notice. We will cross "Square-One" off our list of places to go to.

According to their website, all their other central Florida locations are doggie friendly; Brandon, two in Sarasota, St Pete, Tampa, and Fort Myers.

There have been several Threads regarding dogs and restaurants. See post #13 for a list provided by Bogie Shooter.
Its pretty obvious that many residents of TV love their dogs and want to take them with them wherever they go including the Squares and some to the restaurant. Others love their dog and prefer to leave them at home. What makes Square 1 Burger's proposal different from all other restaurants in TV is you could take your dog and they propose to offer a menu for dogs at their outside patio. In others words, you will be able to not only eat a meal your dog can too. This is very different now that the dog will be eating on the patio too. I have observed that a dog can and sometimes does becomes very aggressive around what is their food. Get too close to their food and some will snap or bite you thinking someone might be taking their food. My own dog didn't even like me "messing" with his food after I had given it to him. We rarely eat on the restaurant patio because of the smoke. A dog eating on the patio sounds to me like an accident ready to happen. I hope a Server isn't hurt. |

dog friendly on the patio!!!
A non event in most civilized countries of the world......AND for the most part here too. I am sure Square One's experience in their other locations are a testament to the practice NOT affecting their business.....why else would they do so here.....because for the most part it will be a non event and for some even a +! |

Since Gracie isn't here I just gotta say it...BOY HOWDY!! Here we go again! There are dog friendly restaurants everywhere in the US and other parts of the world. Get over it! If it concerns you, don't go there. Most likely you won't even notice the prescence of the pet.

ugly. that's what my grandmother called it. boy, you didn't want to hear her say, "don't be ugly."...what a saint.
anyway, for a buck and a half at convenience stores while I gas up, I get a 20 oz drink and emma gets a hot dog. we go somewhere she can relax without a leash and enjoy her boon. frankly, I don't want the hassle of dog v. dog communication when there's food involved. We just all live too close together, dearest friends. Let's go to the country and breathe some air. |

we would be the one who's dog would bark and drive everyone nuts, and upset those inside who were not dining with their dog...i don't think i could in good faith take my dog there if he could ruin someone else dinner..

I wouldn't bring mine either 'cause I know they wouldn't behave properly, but I certainly enjoy seeing the well behaved pooches enjoying their time out. |
