Voter Fraud at Mulberry Grove Early Voting
One of my Canadian friends was outside the Mulberry Grove Rec Center when a Trump supporter asked him if he was there to vote. Below is the content of his email to me.
You may know that there is an "Early Voting" centre at the Mulberry Grove Rec. Centre. When I was going into the gym, I was accosted by some Trump supporters who asked me if I was going in to vote. When I said " I am Canadian and can't vote because I am not a citizen", the guy asked," Do you have a Villages ID that shows you own a house in TV? When I said "Yes", he said that's all I need - photo Villages ID and my signature seem to all I need to vote. That can't be right. I told him the ID might be a valid ID for voting he would NOT be able to vote in Florida because he was not registered to vote. My question is why are Trump supporters asking people to commit voter fraud. I thought Republicans on top of this voter fraud issue. Any thoughts? |

Imho
:ohdear: Instead of "Voter Fraud at Mulberry" the heading should be "BS at TOTV"
|
As I recollect voter proof included drivers license or a current passport.
Voter fraud is prevalent around the country and we must hope someday that Congress takes this on as a serious issue. Nice try OP bet you were up all night thinking about that one |
You mean you need a valid photo ID to vote in Florida??? I thought the Dems blocked this because it is "racist". Or was it "sexist"??. Maybe it's "homophobic" or "Islamophobic". Well, something PC anyway.
By the way, good luck getting into the Dem National Convention without photo ID. |

In Florida in order to vote these are the requirements: To be able to register to vote in Florida, you must: [COLOR="Red"]Be a U.S. citizen. Be a Florida resident. Be at least 18 years old (you can pre-register to vote at 16 years old, but you'll need to wait until you're 18 years old to vote). Have never been convicted of a felony (unless your civil rights have been restored). Have never been legally judged ineligible to vote, for either mental incapacitation or crime.[/COLOR And I didn't make this up! |
Are you sure he wasn't saying entry to the rec center required an ID? When I read what you put in quotes (which I assume is what was actually said), I don't see any indication of attempted voter fraud. Seems to me like someone may be taking the whole thing out of context to insinuate a scandal.

The Dems can't block these laws because they are enacted in Republican controlled states like Alabama who once the Voting Rights law was gutted 5-4 by the Supreme Court they passed a Voter ID law and then promptly closed nearly all of the DMV offices in the state making it impossible to get a driver license or resident ID. That's the Republican way of doing things. |

Nevada Judge Calls ACORN 'Reprehensible,' Slaps Group With Maximum Fine for Voter Fraud | Fox News And don't state this was from Fox news---it was a JUDGE that imposed the fine |
A little off topic, but this is the most recent post in the chit-chat lounge:
"how do you post a classified. I find nowhere to do it " Answer is easy---just ask to borrow Hilary's private e-mail server:a20: |

IF this really did happen, the Trump supporter did not know that just having a Villages ID resident card does not automatically put you on the voter registration list.
If the Canadian went in, showed their Villages ID, the poll worker would have looked for their name on the voter registration list, not found it, and the Canadian would be told they could not vote - end of story. Of course, the Candian would have known he could not vote since he was a Canadian citizen and would not have tried. All of our Canadian friends are very honest people! |

In Nevada, ACORN pleaded guilty to one felony count of unlawful compensation for registration of voters, stemming from an illegal voter registration scheme in its Las Vegas office during in the 2008 race. "This is not a voter registration fraud case, it is an improper compensation case," countered Lisa Rasmussen, the ACORN attorney, who argued that the fine should only be $1,000. As I said in my post this case was about paying people to register. |

I fully understand what happens when you pay people by the number of names they collect. And you may be right that none of these names ended up on the voter registration roles. But then again, are we sure???? |
