Culver's

Culver's off 466 getting close. Was in Orlando yesterday and stop by Culver's in winter garden off highway 50. Never been to Culver's that was "NOT" clean, neat, good service, and good food. Hope this one in villages can live up to Culver's standard?

I THINK I understand you to say you had never been to Culvers. The ones up North have always been clean and well run with really good food. Milkshakes are so yummy..

I am really looking forward to the one that is opening near us on 466.

We have been to several Culver’s and never found one that was not clean, good service and good food. According to “Franchises Business Review” Culver’s is rated Number 1. I’m hoping for one in south TV someday .....

cologal 03-09-2018 12:52 PM

One of my go to places! Food is good but the custard is outstanding!!!!

I am sad to see them opening here in The Villages...won't do my waistline any good!

I think OP left a word or two out. I think he meant he had not been to one that wasn't neat, clean, good service, etc.

Bjeanj 03-09-2018 02:46 PM

Our granddaughter worked at a Culver’s in Indiana. High standards required.

Fish Dinners at Culvers

If the Culvers in The Villages opens before Lent is over, and you are not eating meat on Fridays during Lent, try Culvers Cod dinner or Walleye dinner! Of course you can eat these dinners after Lent is over too! Delicious. :mmmm:

Topspinmo 04-02-2018 08:00 PM

Culvers is about to open, I seen somewhere the 16th April. Probably be too busy first couple days to get in the door?

joec3 04-02-2018 11:38 PM

Went to a Culver's in Baraboo years ago coming back from a Wisconsin Dells trip. Gave it a try not knowing anything about it. Needless to say, looking forward to the one here.

No to breakfast....hours might be 11:00 a.m. til close (whatever that store deems it). A word that comes to mind is "Anticipation" (song also sung by Carlie Simon).

Thanks, I look forward to trying it.

We have a Culver’s in Illinois and a McDonald’s close by. No breakfast at Culver’s and often wondered why not? McDonalds does very well (profit wise) with breakfast - - coffee excellent. The building Culver’s remolded was a DQ at one time but never seemed to do a good business for some reason. It’s an excellent location and Culver’s should do well there.

Chatbrat 04-03-2018 02:55 PM

IMHO--a glorified DQ--nothing to get all hot & bothered about--come on ,how about a real restaurant--sorry about all you guys from the mid-west that would like to feel touchy & feely about you're old neighborhood coming to TV-- I wouldn't get this enthralled if a corp. Nathan's open up in TV either= none of their corp. extensions could come close to the original in Coney Island

Walleye? That would be a find for those of use raised around the Great Lakes. They don't mention it on their website though. Is it only available during Lent or only in locations closer to the Great Lakes?

I took a great-niece and great-nephew to a Culver's once for ice cream and wasn't overly impressed for food choices as everything looked fried or deep-fried, something my waistline can't support any more. However, I'd break my own rules for some Walleye!

I was waiting for husband and daughter to finish shopping at Bealls recently, sitting in the chairs by the entrance. A gentlemen sat down next to me and started a conversation. He said he was from New York. He told me that New York City had the best restaurants, the best hospitals, the best art and culture. I told him that I enjoyed visiting NYC and had been there many times. I asked him if he had ever been to Cincinnati. He said "No. Why would I do that?".

If NYC is so good? why are there gobs of NY'er down here? Tax evasion???

Weather is the main reason and the lower cost of living

graciegirl 04-03-2018 03:56 PM

Now...before I get the...it isn't good for you stuff.

I would imagine that most will enjoy Culvers occasionally, and not make a steady diet of their delicious ice cream and other yummy stuff served in a clean restaurant in a chain that really deserves the praise it gets.

I might go seven days in a row and then get control of myself....but hey.

It isn't nice.

I don't think I was bragging. We moved here so my husband could play golf year round and I could spend a lot of time outside.

Don't worry about your waistline. Eat drink and be merry. If it's good, eat it! Life's too short to stay skinny. By the way, I'm fat and happy.
