So glad I have hundreds of channels…

…so I didn’t have to watch the idiotic SB half time show. 😡

alwann 02-13-2022 08:25 PM

Supbowl

Thankful my tv has captions. Without I'd have no clue what they were singing about.

Djean1981 02-13-2022 08:28 PM

I had to turn it off. It was garbage. But, that's what I expected. Lol

JMintzer 02-13-2022 08:47 PM

The best part was the '63 Impala...

The whole affair was horrific, actually embarrassing!

AND HE LET SOMEONE DANCE ON THE HOOD???:shocked::shocked:

From the interwebz: "The most famous of them all is the one driven by Snoop Dog, the 1959 Impala Mothership. The car belongs to Chris Mills from L.A, and is no longer stock. of course...

My apologies for getting the year wrong...

Stu from NYC 02-13-2022 10:13 PM

This is why I start watching 45 minutes after it started so I can fast forward thru the nonsense

tophcfa 02-13-2022 10:49 PM

Whoever named that obnoxious noise rap forgot to put the c in front of it.

manaboutown 02-13-2022 11:00 PM

It was trash. I muted it.

MorTech 02-14-2022 02:34 AM

How are any of those vapid freaks famous?
Only because of the Idiot Box.

I didn't pay much attention to the halftime performance but I did see a white 1963 Impala convertible. I noticed two cars but didn't see the model of the second car or which car had someone dancing on the hood.

rsmurano 02-14-2022 05:50 AM

Garbage! I thought I heard someone say it was going to be a historic halftime event. It was, the worst halftime event in 56 years.

thevillages2013 02-14-2022 06:04 AM

I muted the whole halftime . I was in my computer looking at first half stats and prop bets but glanced up at the tv occasionally and saw a lot of crotch grabbing. I don’t ever see that here in The Villages during the 5-9 entertainment at the squares. Maybe our performers use like powder or cream to ease that um situation.

I have to say I didn’t enjoy it either. I respect those who enjoy rap though. I do like Eminem. But for the SB show I couldn’t even understand the rap lyrics. I’d go so far as saying I’d rather them have JLo, even Britney Spears!

DrBrutyle109 02-14-2022 06:26 AM

100% True. Just garbage no talent hacks

Just because don’t care for Rap it doesn’t mean that it was a bad show….in fact it was pretty good. Thank goodness there is music for all types out there.
Sometimes you just have to be open for different things.
I liked the music and they kept it clean.

How can you say no talent………some of Raps top talented artists. I don’t care for Jazz music at all but I wouldn’t say the top Jazz artist has no talent, I would say it’s just not for me.

yourjoy 02-14-2022 06:35 AM

I enjoyed it.

golfing eagles 02-14-2022 06:49 AM

I was going to say that the "artists" of the halftime show accomplished something no one has ever been able to do------procure an unanimous opinion of how bad the "music" was from a wide spectrum of TOTV posters---until the last 3 posts. Still, overwhelming agreement on TOTV about anything is quite an accomplishment:1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

None of the usual * the police?

Harold.wiser 02-14-2022 07:03 AM

But they said it would be the best halftime show ever!!
I'd rather watch a dog catching frisbees.

B-flat 02-14-2022 07:07 AM

This halftime show proves civilization is on the decline! No way would I even watch it.

GaryKoca 02-14-2022 07:12 AM

SuperBowl halftime

I purposely only watched about 90 seconds of the halftime show. Regarding the singing, there was no singing, just shouting. I thought it was awful in the short bit I watched. But it was clearly not intended for our age group. It that is the music of the future, that is not for me. How about Lady Gaga.

You obviously know little about jazz. Of course you are entitled not to like it, but you cannot compare hip-hop to the talent of a jazz musician.

Jazz and hip hop are two of America’s native art forms. Both have had immeasurable impact on the cultural fabric of American society and life expressing the plight of African Americans. While jazz came from the combination of African, Latin and European elements, hip hop arose in the 70’s to express the dissatisfaction of social conditions that plagued blacks in the inner cities and because music had been pulled out of schools, the instruments thus became turntables and microphones.

If you didn’t watch it how can you judge the performance. Your post doesn’t make sense. Btw, half time show was excellent!

msilagy 02-14-2022 07:26 AM

It's not music from our time but I respect the fact that many born in the 90's may have enjoyed it. It isn't always about "YOU"

hypart 02-14-2022 07:28 AM

Disappointing there wasn't more Snoop Dogg or Eminem. Too much Dr Dre. Kendrick Lamar wasn't great. Dancers were awesome.

mamamia54 02-14-2022 07:28 AM

I knew who Snoop Dog was before the Superbowl. Not a fan, really didn’t care one way or the other about him. Don’t really know his music, it’s not something I listen to. However, he made a song with the lyrics stop shooting each other and go shoot police (fill in your own cuss words). After hearing that and actually reading the lyrics, if I even see him on a commercial or a show I immediately change the station. I’m surprised Martha Stewart does so much with him. That’s her business, but I will never support in any way someone that tells people to go shoot police.

I suspect when she agreed to do animal planet with him, she thought she was doing it with "Snoopy":1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

Halftime show

Well, the comments reveal the halftime show wasn’t meant for a lot of older people, but they surely watched it.

I will never open my eyes to people that profess a hatred to Law Enforcement Officers.

MX rider 02-14-2022 07:42 AM

I actually like Eminem. Some of his music is part of a playlist I have for running.

But the sound was awful! I can't judge whether Dr Dre and the others were any good because of that.
Not a Snoop Dog fan though

lpkruege1 02-14-2022 07:44 AM

So they were singing? If that's what they call it, no wonder why this country is going down the drain.

talonip 02-14-2022 07:48 AM

Rap is not music. It’s noise

Exactly!! We all sound like old Fuddy Duddies! Perhaps your children and grands liked it! My dad didn't care for the Beatles when they first emerged on the scene, he called it noise, and didn't like that they grew their hair out and that I wanted to grow mine too. The world proved him wrong! If you've traveled any, much of the young world likes the music. Some of the Ice Dancers at the Olympics danced to rap! My two cents worth.

NotGolfer 02-14-2022 07:50 AM

I don't watch sports because I'm not a fan! My other half is though----! I used to watch the half-time show but stopped it years ago because it no longer was very good. From my FB page---I think this year's must be a generational thing because the young un's seemed to love it. That is, most all in their 40's or younger! I would definitely not be a fan of rap---can't understand it OR the one's doing it because of the disgusting crotch grabbing.
