Relieving yourself on the golf course.

Another thread got me thinking.

Do women get offended if a man goes behind a tree or bush to relieve himself?

Most older men have enlarged prostate and with the heat, we need to drink lots of water and then relieve ourselves frequently. Medications work only so well.

Yes, I use the restroom before teeing off and never pass a restroom on the course without using it, doesn't matter if I have to go or not.

Nothing worst than trying to play golf when your bladder is busting.

If I’m playing with a group of men I just go behind a tree no questions asked but if a woman is in the group I feel like this is risky and she may make a big issue out of it.

I’m not talking about a possible family golf environment but an adult golf environment.

Also, what is the TV/developer policy on relieving oneself on their golf course?

I’ve never seen a rule stating it's prohibited, maybe legally it could be urinating in public or indecent exposure but that is my concern with women that they may be offended and actually call the Sheriff.

Who knows maybe even a man would make a big issue and call the authorities.

No diaper or a bag answers will be accepted as it’s rare and doesn't happen that often but when it does I gotta go.

Thoughts?

I lived on a golf course in a country club community for 13 years and there were men that would just stand out there and relieve themselves while waiting to tee off with homes surrounding the tees. Once I had my grandchildren out on our deck and it happened so I called the police and met them after the 9th green, he got mouthy with them and he left in their car. I then went in to talk with the pro and told him I as well as my neighbors will call each time we see this happening. It never happened again after that day. That is one of the reasons I would never live on a golf course again, lots of sickos out there, plus the vulgarity, noise, and lack of privacy. My deck was not on a trail, it was on a pro tee box but still way to much going on for my liking.

Kenswing 04-25-2023 11:07 AM

Is this really what this site has come down to?

Well, relieving yourself on a tee box is absurd. Let’s keep this in perspective and keep it to someone trying to be discreet about it behind a tree out of plain sight of homes.

Well. What is the rule now for how many minutes you have to to look for a lost ball? 😃

Im not a golfer. With that said, before i retired and moved here, i visited my brother who lived here for a number of years. First time here, we are driving around and im looking at all the golf carts. I said to him, there must be many cases of incontince here, I see the golf carts all have these white plastic urinals on them.
Needless to say he explained what they are for.

But i often think…they could be used for that.

UpNorth 04-25-2023 02:09 PM

Unfortunately, not enough trees on the golf courses here. The developer stripped most of them away. Boring, flat layouts with plenty of golf view premium lots. A guy can't find a decent tree these days.

Taltarzac725 04-25-2023 02:23 PM

I know there is a small bathroom just off Belmont's 3rd hole.

I sometimes see couples sneaking into it for sex so a lot does happen on golf courses.

If both are in there at the same time I assume something else is going on in there.

I don't want to look out my window to see you pis*ing.

Agree, anyone doing it "in the open" is not the norm. In TV there are very few places where a person would be close enough to SEE something and even then they might need binoculars.

If a tree is peed on in the forest....

Rainger99 04-25-2023 03:09 PM

Every executive course that I have been on has a bathroom at the start, and another one around the 5th hole. The championship courses have one on the start, the front nine and the back nine.

Surprisingly, there are a number of Championship courses which do not have facilities at the starter shacks. Very surprised since this is a senior joint.

Mallory, EP, Glenview, Palmer, SO to name a few.

That is surprising. I should have qualified it by saying at the championship courses that I have played.

If there isn’t a bathroom at the starter shack, isn’t there a clubhouse with a bathroom?

Clubhouse or pool bathroom.

Oh, add Cane Garden to the list also.

Chi-Town 04-25-2023 03:47 PM

Drink cart girls always plied my foursome with beer. You don't buy beer, you rent it. No golf course went unwatered.

Pairadocs 04-25-2023 03:49 PM

Just another opinion among many

Like many other topics we "chat" about on here, when two or more separate issues are discussed simultaneously, it gets difficult to follow. There are legitimate, contrasting, differences between those who prefer to live on a golf course and those who would never consider it. However, on the topic of public indecency laws, it should not matter if an individual lives on a golf course, by a walking trail, ball diamond, or tennis count, they fact that a male, or a female, has an incontinence condition should not result in the law being applied by qualitative consideration. Once a society starts down that path, equality of justice takes another blow. If one is excused from public indecency laws (urinating in public) because they are on a public or private golf course, should a tennis player or softball player in a public park then be excused from the law by stepping behind a tree, or even equipment shed, in the park to urinate instead of walking to the restroom facilities ? So, no, in a civilized society we do not accept a variety of excuses for public urination, it's gross, actually destructive to the fiber of a society (even though some would consider it no different than spitting on the sidewalk), and rather done on the side of the road (which we have probably all witnessed) while "pretending" to examine an auto by putting the hood up, it's illegal because it is offensive. At the very least, citizens should have a right not to be exposed to such crude people, but we know some have no sense of decency and probably never will.

One thought is, are MEN NOT offended by public urination ? ? ?

One thought is, are MEN NOT offended by public urination ? ? ? Some of this seems to make sense, while other parts of the same "question" do not. Referring to medication, each of us can only rely on our own experience and good taste if you will. But, on occasions where I have been told to take a medication that my physician said would cause frequent urination, I refrain from tennis and from golf, if I believe the spacing of restrooms does not meet my needs. This seems an odd topic, but every executive has a restroom after hole 4 or 5, never really counted on the championships. To me it's almost "silly" to discuss if public urination in our country is "offensive", or if our law makers long ago decided no matter which "sex" a civilized human being is, public urination, even in "adult" areas, is not accepted.

No , not really unless it is done to attract attention.

It’s OK to take a leak on the golf course as long as you identify as a squirrel : )

If they are peeing on my yard, car or person--- YES. There was a dog a number of years ago that had a big desire to pee on certain tennis shoes. With people in them or not.

Mallory, correct
EP has restrooms at Killdeer and Egret, not Osprey
Palmer has bathroom at the Laurel/Cherry starter
SO has restroom at the starter shack
Glenview---correct, none

Soooo...., you get 2/5 correct for 40%-----EPIC FAIL!!!! :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

If you can do it in your golf cart discretely so no one can see - into your own urinal which like dog poo you take with you - well, ok.
