Best Village's Pizza Restaurant

Was looking for recommendations for the Best Pizza located within The Villages.

Yesterday we took takeout from Bravo Pizza located at Lake Sumter. Large cheese pizza was $ 14.50 with each additional topping $3.00.

Would be interested in hearing everyone's recommendation.

Bill-n-Brillo 06-08-2013 06:13 AM

We really like the pizza at Mallory!

Bill :)

The question of what's the best pizza is subjective enough that I'm sure you get a whole range of opinions in response. The best I can do is mention a few of several that we like. Here are two, Papa Johns and Snappy Tomato. We had Snappy Tomato just last night and we like it in part not just because of the taste, but also because we can get a baby sized pizza with 4 small slices for the two of us. As I've indicated these are just two of the places we like getting pizza's from and you're best bet is to pay attention to how people respond. Some will give descriptions of the pizza's they like and that could be the key for your deciding what sounds best for you!

NYPD Pizza is amazing! Just like NY pizza! Not cheap but worth the $$

msfooter 06-08-2013 08:09 AM

Please give Tierra Del Sol a try - their pizza is terrific. Jimmie

Agree. NYPD is pretty good. Not really NY but pretty close.

zcaveman 06-08-2013 11:21 AM

Snappy's and Toscani's.

Skip2MySue 06-08-2013 11:24 AM

Love Flippers, in fact heading there tonight. Bread sticks to die for and chop salad is also great.

Mallorys was a great pizza when we ate there.
We need to try all the others recommended here.
Yummy yummy but alas!, can't eat pizza often due to its super high content in sodium....

Flippers in TV
Belleview Pizza out of the dome

sharonga 06-08-2013 05:36 PM

My vote is also for NYPD Pizza. (Brooklyn and Staten Island)

Best Pizza is like your favorite sport team, everyone has one and they are the best. Some swear by deep dish other go for thin crust, if your from NJ, it’s the water that makes great pizza, NY people would agree but not so in Chicago.

When we first move here, Toscani’s Italian Deli & Pizzeria had great pizza, pricey but good then something happen, changed personnel or whatever and is no longer worth the price in our opinion. I guess my point is the best will change in time so try them all and move-on when things change, currently things are good at Flippers for us but times are changing.

MikeV 06-08-2013 09:06 PM

NYPD Pizza is by far the best if you are from the NY NJ area. Even if your not from there try it out and I believe you will agree it is the best thin crust Pizza you have had.

kaydee 06-08-2013 09:18 PM

NYPD gets our vote.

Legends Pizza, Fruitland Park

We've been in The Villages for approximately two years now. The best pizza that we had was at Legends Pizza on 441 in Fruitland Park. We had their pizza tonight for the third time and it was AWESOME. I invited the couple across the street to join us today, and they also thought that it was the best pizza they had down here. I would suggest that you give it a try and form your own opinion, but, for me, it's the best.

For lunch today I had the 10 inch Margherita pizza at NYPD. The garlic, olive oil, sauce and cheese were great. I have also had the same pizza at flippers in SS, and it was also great. BTW, the price at NYPD for the 10 inch pie was only 6 dollars and change. I thought it was a very good value.

scrapperonce 06-09-2013 09:24 PM

We LOVE Flippers and NYPD pizza ...We also love the pizza at Mallory and if you travel outside the "bubble" we highly recommend Belleview Pizza....My husband is from the North End of Boston and he is a difficult one to please when it comes to pizza....the aforementioned bring him joy whenever he desires a "good pizza"...

Funny reading some of the posts they remind me of out west in New Mexico or Arizona. When folks give directions they rarely site the address of a place but tell you its next to or in front of ... Which seem like a small town or Village and a friendly way to help several folks out for locating an address while driving in many cities is almost imposable.

carlanddiane 06-10-2013 12:41 PM

we had pizza at NYPD and have to say it is VERY good! born and raised in NYC and we are very demanding about pizza quality but NYPD is a winner

My Daily Run 06-11-2013 08:11 AM

Had Tierra Del Sol for the first time on Sunday and I thought it was very good but next time I would ask to cook it a little longer as the crust was not brown enough for me but lots of cheese which I love and the large is huge...$5.00 bacardi and coke and $3.00 copperridge merlot...not too shabby !!!

Yesterday we took takeout from Bravo Pizza located at Lake Sumter. Large cheese pizza was $ 14.50 with each additional topping $3.00.

Would be interested in hearing everyone's recommendation.

What did you think of Bravo's, other than it's a little expensive?

Generally, you will have a completely different pizza-experience when you eat it right out of the oven, or when you take it home. For example, Giovanni's is acceptable when you eat there but tastes like cardboard when you take it home. We're happy with Bravo's but we often pop it in the oven for 10 minutes if we're taking it out.

buzzy 06-11-2013 07:45 PM

Any take-out pizza will get soggy crust by the time it gets home. Putting it in the oven restores some of the crispness to the crust, as well as warming up the topping.

If you are from the Chicago land area I recommend a short trip to Belview. Belview Pizza, almost across the street from Mic e D's offers the best pizza as well as about generous portions of about 20 other Italian favorites. Be sure to bring cash as they don't take credit cards.

Thanks for the info. about Chicago style pizza close to The Villages for my next trip to TV hopefully in the fall. If Lou Malnati's would open a restaurant in The Villages, they would make a killing. And if you are a pizza lover from the Chicago area, you are probably familiar with Lou Malnati's. Just my 2 cents.

jboursales 06-17-2013 01:25 PM

NYPD is the best. Uses high end ingredients. Great service. Best in the Villages. Pizza Bianco is outstanding with brocolli.

eweissenbach 06-17-2013 01:54 PM

Our favorite is Mallory! Hand tossed, brick oven - I love the portabella and swiss, and you can add sausage if you like. We use Papa Johns website for delivery and like the choices and the specials you can join up to receive. Fast delivery, arrives hot, very good pizza ( I love the garlic sauce).
