Restaurant Inspections

After reading about the McDonald's in Colony closing for a day or two because of a disgusting inspection of dead and live roaches, among other violations, it is Vital that we as customers and consumers of products are aware of places with abnormal inspections

As a franchise owner myself I know what it takes. It is reprehensible to allow a food establishment to get the violations that they post. Owners and management need to do their job or get out of the business of serving the public. Patrons need to heed these warnings from the state inspectors.

I have no problem eating at Codys. In fact I eat there a lot and I've been in the kitchen.

1. In 8 years of living here the only two restaurants i know of that continue to meet state inspectors expectations are Giovanni's and Son Rise Cafe.

2. This prompt me to ask, Does the State require inspections results to be posted? If not then they should so that people won't have to wonder what a restaurant's kitchen is like, etc

Thanks for the link. Is it safe to assume that each of the restaurants are reviewed about the same number of times?

Where's the bandaide; I'll look for it next time I'm there! Very funny.

No, I agree that Cody's is probably not clean, although we do eat there (gulp) occasionally. The look they have created doesn't even give one a sense of cleanliness. How could it be with all the peanuts, although Five Guys has peanuts and that place IS clean.

The chairs and booths need a good scrubbing and we have had to ask for clean silverware. Someone there really needs to take a look at the ketchup tops. I guess they never wipe them off until the bottle is empty and then it doesn't matter.

What we see is not what the Board of Health inspectors look for. Walking through the kitchen or even watching them cook, tells you nothing unless you are the person doing an actual inspection. A friend of mine did these inspections and you would be amazed at what they look for, where they look and what they find.

It is safe to assume that all restaurants are
not inspected the same number of times.

A lot of it has to do with how they did with prior inspections.

Why are you using this huge font ?? Is this to say you are yelling ? We can see.

I'm curious. I am really good friends with Mike and see him quite often. When he was there, we were there 5 - 6 nights a week. I would really like to know when he brought out plenty of free food & platters of free ribs out to the late night crowd. We used to stay there with the managers until midnight.
I'm sure Mike would be curious also to know when he did this.

I have to plug my ears when "The Screamer" plays there!

I was just looking at restaurant inspections by County Health in Illinois. It's about the same as in TV. It's all about management, however, it's the "bottom line" that gets you fired (in most cases) not the inspections-----unfortunately.

They can do better-----for sure.
