"Nobody, I mean NOBODY puts ketchup on a hot dog."

Why Does Ketchup on a Hot Dog **** People Off? - Food News -

Well, if I ever have the pleasure of meeting Clint Eastwood, I will not put ketchup on my hot dog while he is around or can see it.

This is one security blanket though that I have not grown out of especially as I do not care all that much for mustard, chili, pickles, sauerkraut, onions, etc.

That's one of the funniest scenes in the Dirty Harry movies. I think the scene leading up to it when the other detective ask him if he was ok.

All beef hot dog
Poppyseed hot dog bun

NO ketchup!

That's a big NO, NO, for me. I remember being a little kid and some kids wanted ketchup on their dogs. Even then, I went, ewwww!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was used to kill the taste of everything, as some put in on, their steaks. Double eeeewwwwww!!!!!!

Some thing ketchup is good for, hamburgers, french fries and potato and eggs sandwich,(potatoes used are french fries).

As one gets older, their taste buds should reflect a better idea, of what goes on certain items.

I vote no ketchup on hotdogs, ever.

I saw the article in the Daily Sun the other day. No catsup after age 18 (or something like that).

I put mustard on the bun. Then the hot dog. I prefer the Ball Park beef dogs from the grill or boiled or fried in a pan. Then I put catsup, onions, relish, baked beans and cole slaw on the top.

Always have and always will.

As far as I am concerned, there is no wrong way to eat a hotdog.

No ketchup on hotdogs. OK if you agree to nothing on grits.

I agree that there is no wrong way to eat a hot dog but would not recommend anyone but a professional eater try to chomp down any more than 4 or so. These guys are pushing in 61 or more now!!!! http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joey_Chestnut

I did see that Villages Daily Sun article on National Hot Dog day. http://nationaldaycalendar.com/2014/...ice-cream-day/

If you grew up where Heinz had their home offices and kitchens, you might put ketchup on a hot dog. I used to, along with mustard and onions. I used to put it on hamburgers too, along with mayo.

Now I don't eat hot dogs or hamburgers.

My wife is from the Philippines. What she puts on her hot dog is what they put on almost everything in the Philippines. Ketchup and Mayonaise! Yuk!

In awe of TV 07-26-2014 07:36 PM

Of course!

50/50 mustard and ketchup

I love a mixture of half mustard and half ketchup. That along with a little onion is a wonderful combination. Try it!

DigitalGranny 07-26-2014 08:11 PM

We'll I just love hot dogs! Mustard and onion are my usual, but I will try almost anything. Thanks for all the ideas for new combinations. I plan to try them all!
