Noises that sound like gun shots
 

In the area of Amelia, Mallory Hill and Caroline....sounds of what sounds like gun shots? It's quarter to five in the afternoon. Could it be a gun or a nail gun (which has a similar sound)?? Anyone else hearing this???

Also hear barking of a large dog, which wasn't happening til this other sound.

I think I read there are military practice drills at Ocala National Forest.

Last year we were told it was the beginning of duck hunting season....I hear it every morning lately as soon as there is some light in the sky. I've never heard it though in the afternoon as you mentioned. If it is duck hunting, I can't figure out "where". I live no where there would be a place for hunters to shoot being in Buttonwood, but maybe shots from areas near here can travel this far.

When we lived in Hadley we frequently heard gunshots coming from the are of the farm with the big windmill. Believe they are engaged in target practice. I believe that would have been northeast of Ambrosia.

Duck hunters. In Buttonwood you can hear the shots from Lake Miona and in the very early am from Lake Deaton.

Thanks....yes....it might have been from that direction! NOT far away as "some" were alluding to here! Thus they didn't actually hear it as I did.
