Pedophiles do live in The Villages.
 

The other site reports them when they move in and shows their picture. There are probably other people who are previously convicted of bad stuff who live here too.

There is nothing we can do to keep them out or make them leave. Their rights are protected. Only kids under nineteen can be excluded. They can only visit here a total of 30 days in a year.

I really believe that we have an awful lot of good people who have never been in trouble with the law, and have always paid their bills and taken care of their responsibilities who live here. But I was born optimistic and went to a retreat once where they said it was best to try to find good in situations and people. Every once in awhile I remember to do that. Most of the time I jump to conclusions.

The purpose of this thread is to focus on the reality that both good and bad people live here. Young people can be good or bad. Old people can be good or bad and middle aged people can be good or bad. This is an age restricted community but some bad people live here. But mostly good people live here. I was making the point that we need to realize that this place cannot keep bad or good people out.

Probably be as wary of them as was done for others when they moved into the neighborhood and would be done when new neighbors move in in the future...all while hoping to find the good in the situation and the new neighbor! Kind of the same way I felt when the home for recovering women [with their children] moved four doors away from my up North home! Was so happy to find out that they are a great bunch of women finding out that they are stronger than they knew!

I would have no problem cause the truth behind all this media hype against sex crimes
is to overshadow the drug problem. Murderers, rapist, embezzlers, bank robbers and
DRUG DEALERS are not on the "LIST." The public is being DUPED into thinking the "LIST"
is important for public safety over a DRUG DEALERS LIST (which doesn't exist).

Thanks to the likes of John Walsh, Chris Hansen and Lauren and Ron Book - they have
made millions off the registry - while Drug Dealers are free to roam the schools and
neighborhoods killing people, turning girls into the street trade of prostitution etc.

Sex offenders have the lowest rate of recividism. Drug dealers the highest.
A murderer or animal abuser can live next to you - and you would not know it.
Cause the "List" is a smoke screen cause the govt isn't willing to take on the
drug trade openly and in the same manner as the "list."

At 67 years old, I'm probably safer living next to a pedophile than a non-pedophile. (Not trying to make a joke although it is a good basis for one). But pedophilia is a sickness and, if given the choice, I prefer having healthy neighbors over sickos.

I had a joint with my WIFE band CD seized by CPS CHILD PROTECTION SERVICES for child support for the kid of some lady in North Carolina.

THE TRUTH IS I DO NOT EVEN KNOW WHO THIS LADY IS OR WAS.

A call to CPS and the zealot on the other end of the phone suggested I fax her a copy of my social secuity number.
My reply was my fax number is YOU FAX ME YOURS AND I WILL FAX YOU MINE.

My bank was about as helpful they wanted to charge me $100 PLUS for THEIR ATTY FEES.

IN THE END, IT WAS A BANK ERROR. I INSISTED ON AN APOLOGY LETTER FROM CPS SIGNED BY THE-I LOOKED UP THE NAME OF THE BRANCH MANAGER AND THE BANK PRESIDENT. REASON BOTH SPITE AND THE FASCT THAT IF THEIR CLAIM WAS REPORTED MY REPUTATION WOULD HAVE BEEN DAMAGED.

A friend was involved a a nasty divorce. I of course only got one side BUT, his wife ACCUSED him of sexually toucching his daughter. The young girl was brought to CPS for interviews and INSPECTION. A GOOD INTENTIONED ORGANIZATION- I HAVE NO DOUBT. Did this interview and inspection damage this young girl? OF COURSE IT DID.

There are several types of chronophilias. Pedophilia is only one. Nepiophilia and ephebophilia are others. Unless their grandchildren visit frequently most Villagers might have more cause for concern if a person having gerontophilia or possibly mesophilia moved into their neighborhood.
