Concealed carry guns
 

Does anyone know where in the Villages you cannot carry a concealed handgun? Cannot seem to find much on it. A family member with a ccw permit visits us often and asked me the question. All I was able to find was what the law prohibits and that private property can ask you to leave if you carry a gun. So basically he needs to know which places in the Villages post signs prohibiting guns. I cannot seem to find anyone that knows. Most just keep a gun at home for self defense and really do not know for certain which places in TV do not want a gun. Movie theater? Hospital? Doctor Office? Stores? I have been looking for signs at places I visit and have not seen any so I am asking for your help. Heard about a dropped gun going off in Walmart a few weeks ago. Really puzzles me as modern guns have drop safeties. From many years of shooting competitively and in combat I suspect the real reason they go off is that they start falling and the instinctive thing to do is grap it and sometimes people grab the trigger. If they went off when they were dropped, mine would have done so many times in Vietnam.

So far as I know, as long as you have a Florida permit, you can carry a concealed weapon anywhere. I know I do and no one has ever made an issue of it nor have I seen a sign saying I can't. Of course, I don't pull it out and it truly is there for a very good reason. I do believe that if you carry a concealed weapon with an out-of-state permit, you cannot take it into public areas -- you will have to leave it in your vehicle, secured properly -- but I won't swear to this, either.

Why would you need to carry a gun in TV?

Scroll down and on the left side there is a travel planner that will provide what is needed to know on states one might travel to/through.

You cannot carry into a voting place; many bars prohibit carry even with a permit.

I never have a problem with when or where I carry and offend no one as it is my personal business/preference and not one for discussion.

When one chooses to aquire a concealed weapons permit
 

it is a very personal decision for personal reasons. When or where or why one carries is not determined by a location such as TV....same way cops don't have to decide whether or where to wear their weapon.

An armed citizen is a criminals worst nightmare...ANYWHERE.

This isn't the political forum Xavier, but since you asked. The tone of my comment by supplying a link to state law, and as far as firearms is concerned, is the second amendment of the US Constitution. It's a law that has been around since 1791 and was just upheld in the Supreme Court decision McDonald v. Chicago.
