Anyone mow their lawn with electric lawn mower?
My neighbor is moving up north and wants to sell his 21" Kobalt self-propelled electric. Cheers! |

I and all nearby neighbors here are using battery electric lawn equipment. No one has had issues. Efficient and quiet. Love them.
I’m not a “Greenie” but lawn equip and 2 cycle small engines are quite dirty. |

My daughter uses one at her place. She says it's fine for a smaller yard.
If a larger yard, I personally would use a gas mower. |
Most brands, including kobalt, advertise deck size as mower size. Makita is an exception. A 21" mower has a 21" blade.
If you are shopping mowers I would get a Makita. They produce more tools that use their batteries than anyone else. More than DeWalt or Milwaukee. |
In the olden golden days.... have gas can filled for your lawn mowing days. Oh, make sure you have enough oil/gas mix for your accessories, because each accessory is different. Is it 2/1 mix or 3/1 mix? If you are happy with that decision making process on mowing day then go with it. Or, battery is the way to go.

I used one up North. I liked it very much. If I was mowing down here I would use a cordless electric. Check the availability of a replacement battery and cost.

The Kobalt he is selling is a 40 volt self propelled 21 inch. It's only a year old and he wants $125.00 for it. He paid $429.95 from Home Depot. |

I have a Makita mower (manually driven), Makita blower and Makita string trimmer. These are all 18 volt series systems. I am very impressed with the quality. I get 3-4 cuttings before having to charge the batteries on the mower. I have so many batteries, that I never have to wait for a charged one.
For what it is worth, we also have a Makita stick broom that runs off the same battery system as all the garden equipment. 1 year in, we are happy with our choices. |
You are todays problem with your attitude on electric tools. The environment is much more important than you are.
