Scammers Galore
 

In a span of 10 minutes today I received a call 1.to lower my Comcast bill,2.an email saying my Amazon account was suspended and 3.an email request to help someone out who needed to get a gift card from Walmart. All I had to do was 1. give them the number of my credit card used for my account in order to lower bill( anew variation of lowering my interest rate on said card) and 2. just click on email and sign into my acct and 3. go out and buy gift card from Walmart and read the numbers back so he could give them out and of course with a promise to pay me back when he returned here. The problem is the calls and the emails look so official that if you don't notice the addresss on them you could get caught up.BEWARE and be careful.

I got the same call from Comcast. It originated in Bahrain. lol

I know it's been said, but "common sense", or lack thereof, will dictate if you will fall for the lies of others. If you can avoid greed you'll do pretty well with scammers.

I (and I suspect most of us) get a couple of dozen a day. I get them from Wells Fargo, Amazon, Walmart, Best Buy, (never had an account any of those places, US Post Office (something about my package is ready to be shipped), and several others.

Not to mention the couple from the UK who won 100 million dollars and wants to give me some. And the multi millionaire lady from Indiana whose husband just passed away and now she needs help managing her funds.

Don't accept phone calls from someone you don't know. As for the emails, just swipe to the left.

Once those millions from that Nigerian Prince hits my account I will hire someone to answer those scam calls. That money should here any day now. Yep! Any day!

There is a channel on YouTube that consists of a scammer who scams Indian scammers. Hacks into their systems and deletes their files, accesses their closed circuit tv’s and laptop cameras, interdicts phone calls to victims to warn them, sends glitter bombs to call centers, etc. Hilarious results. Seems that authorities in India ignore these criminals. Seems like authorities on USA ignores them too (???). Would like to think we could be doing more to close down these foreign, and domestic, fraudulent operations.

Yesterday
 

I just got a call yesterday from (718) 922-8519 claiming to be Amazon. A robocall stating that a $981 order was place for an I-Phone. If the order was not mine to hit number 1.
I hung up and call Amazon. They looked up my past orders and said they showed no such order. It only took a few minutes. That was followed up by an e-mail thanking me for reporting the incident. I called back the number and it was just a busy signal.

My suggestion if you get a suspicions call hang up and call the company direct, Amazon, a Credit card company, whatever. It only takes about 5 minutes, and you'll save yourself a lot of headaches.

I NEVER respond to an unsolicited call or email. If it looks legit I will call Customer Service of the business in question and verify it that way.

Any call from a number I don't recognize, I ignore. If they leave a voicemail, I'll listen to that and see if it sounds legit or not.

Very smart! That’s what everyone should do.

Well, the big tip off for me is that someone claims to be giving me something for nothing. These scams are aimed at greedy people.

Someone got my password, now I have to change my dogs name. 🤣🤣
