Recent dishwasher purchase?

If you have recently purchased a dishwasher will you please share with me your pick and where you purchased appliance? I looked for recent posts and used older Consumer Rpts magazine but not updated. Thank you.

My question as well. Also 1) additional cost of installation, if any; and 2) do they haul away the old one--free--or at an additional cost?

We purchased two weeks ago at Home Depot, a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher and microwave, LG brand. Very happy with our purchase so far, we bought on Saturday and they were delivered on Thursday. And $800 less then what we were going to buy back in December.

Bought LG French Door fridge, dishwasher, microwave and stove top 11 years ago. All are still working like new.
As far as Samsung Washer and Dryer, JUNK!

My confession: for years I silently "disapproved" of our adult children's tendency to go for the most costly brands of autos, clothing, appliances, etc. I was a "prisoner" of my own up bringing, "just because you CAN, does not mean you should" attitude. After spending an extensive time "baby sitting" at the home of an adult child, I finally began to understand their extreme loyalty to Bosch. Fast forward, about 6 months ago, "bit the bullet" and paid the high price for a Bosch dish washer from Lowe's. It took me six months of experiencing this Bosch compared to my life time experiences with less expensive brands: GE (really bad in our experience), Hotpoint (don't know if those are still made ?), Sears brand, can't remember all of them. Can only say nothing has ever come close to this Bosch. Never had a DW that you absolutely can not tell if it is running, or one that did not require dishes to at least be hand rinsed previous to putting into machine, or that would completely clean a glass baking dish that had BURNED on food. At holiday time in Dec. Sister in law grabbed a casserole dish with badly burned residue I had put into DW saying "no, we're going to have to soak that and wash by hand". I told here that with my new DW, none of that was necessary, and told her I was using the same brand of tablets I'd always used. It was definitely the new machine that eliminated all those steps. I guess you could say I am secreting having to "eat crow", considering how I always thought my adult children were "wasting" money.... LOL ! ! ! As for installation... I "think" it was $50, but can't remember for certain. Did NOT take long as it was replacing existing one and no changes had to be made to the plumbing configuration, etc.
They were going to take the old one, but I told them it was already promised to a friend who wanted it for his cabin (it was still working when we bought the new one). That seemed to really upset the Lowe's people, not sure why, since it costs them to dispose of old appliances ! Since they were not going to take it, it was a little tense as they were going to leave it in the middle of the kitchen floor where they put it. After a (not heated) little discussion, they did finally agree to move it to the garage (door from kitchen into garage, so about 8-10 foot move.

Second that one, amazing ! Could not believe others would pay MORE for a certain brand... until I actually purchased a Bosch !

We purchased a Bosch a few years ago from Lowe’s, at the time they had a special of free installation, I think they run that special several times a year. We actually had to pay for installation, as I recall was $150, but you got that back via a rebate. They did remove the old dishwasher for no cost. You won’t regret a Bosch.

Stay away from this GE model. It was in our new construction in Richmond. Could hear it running all over the house. Replaced it with a KitchenAid from Best Buy.

Buy whatever brand you like (we like our LG), but don't buy Chinese. There are good S. Korean, Japanese and Euro brands out there....all allies of ours, unlike the Chinese.

Not many appliance only stores around.

We are replacing ours applicants, probably buying from Lowes or HD

i did go onto LG’s web site, they will tell you what stores appliances are available, there are a few appliance only stores that don’t look sketchy in Leesburg

While it wasn’t just recently, we purchased a Maytag dishwasher and it was the absolute best. Couldn’t even hear it running and did a great job. Unfortunately it was in our northern house which we have since sold but will definitely replace our Samsung with a Maytag when the time comes.

Installation issue with Home Depot

We purchased a Bosch from Home Depot with installation. When it was delivered, the installers said they could not install ( we were replacing an existing dishwasher) because there was a cabinet between the dishwasher and the sink. So instead of the $150 installation charge, we had to call a plumber and pay $400. That wasn't the only issue we had with Home Depot. There were also dents in the front panel that they told us to talk to the manufacture to get fixed instead of replacing. The dents were eventually fixed by Bosch but it was more time and frustration since a plumber had to come out twice because the plumber discovered the dents when installing. Also, we purchased a higher end Bosch so that it would be quiet. After installation of the new dishwasher, it made loud sucking noises when it drained. This happens 3-4 times a cycle and can be very startling and loud. We have to make sure to run the dishwasher with both drains covered so we don't hear the noise. Bosch repair person said it was installed correctly and not anything they could do with out more investigation (we would have to pay for person to come out). Needless to say, we have been disappointed with both Home Depot installation fiasco and Bosch not being quiet.

Bought a Maytag at Lowes yesterday. It’s a long drawn out process. Cost to install was $347 which includes additional parts needed. I checked with Mike Scott Plumbing and their fee was $340 but they did not mention extra for any parts that might be needed. Apparently here int TV dishwashers have been installed different by the contractors so Lowes inspects before they install.
