Repeat and Repeat

Most of the posts are repeats of conversations that those in Sumter posted when we moved here about the short comings south of 466A. Then the same conversations showed up when south of 44 showed up. And they continue now as newbies move in. Totally understandable, the migration of TV.

True. And as you remember 10 years ago, the "hot" topics were:

Roundabouts
Dog Poop
Seat saving
Terrible restaurants
Poor golf course conditions
The "greedy" developer
The ER at the hospital
The "horror" of snowbird season

"The more things change, the more they stay the same"

The only concern(?) I have with all the expansion going on with the Villages, as well as other new development is the possible water shortage that some predict. All the other subjects of conversation are fleas on a hound dog.

:1rotfl: heard the same comments when TV was moving south of CR466.
At the time Buena Vista south of 466 was a two lane road where two vehicles could barely pass.

It sounds to me like the Developers aren't really interested in the opinions of people who already bought their houses. If they cared, they'd consider - not expanding.

It's their property, their money, their headache. Until they pawn it off to the homeowner and the next CDD. And then it's not their problem anymore. Such is life in The Villages.

South of 44 will eventually be the be best area to live in as commercial properties are developed along 44 and 301 assuming that you are not near powerlines and the turnpike. They have the best amenities and the new homes have included enhancements and options that were not available in previous phases. Plus it has quick access to I75 and the turnpike which will be improved when the 301 expansion is completed in 2028. Your browser is not supported | ocala.com.
430132-1 SR 35 (US 301) from CR 525E to Florida's Turnpike

Problem is that it may be many years before it is fully developed. Look how long it took to get one gas station to open.

As a previous poster said developers develop.
There was another post stating that developers do not listen to the people.
They do listen to the people that is why The Villages is expanding.
People want to live here, the only thing that is going to stop the expansion is when either they run out of buyers or the land because of scarcity becomes too expensive to turn a profit.
At the end of the day almost like everything else, profits are the motivator.

I think you missed his point. I could be wrong but I believe it was meant to be “tongue in cheek.” As in, what do expect a developer to do? This is America.

HELLO! You bet there is expansion in The Villages, but do you really think it's only The Villages. It's everywhere, not only across this country, across the world. One day long after I'm gone there will be a tree in a museum and a picture of grass. If you were in the developers shoes you would be doing the same thing. We are a profit-oriented society, money takes precedence over everything else.
