Items left at supermarkets
I am getting annoyed now at the number of times I have been to the grocery stores and when I get home I find that an item has been left in the bags at the check out. Its happened to me a few times and more recently I have started to check the bag carousel to check I have all my bags, but the check out person doesn't seem to like this. I check my receipt to make sure I paid for the item, but clearly the bag has not been given to me. Annoyed today, as I am missing a "much looked forward to" candy bar!!! Rant over.......

We carefully check before we leave and so far apparently so good. Think the cashier is supposed to ring up some amount of sales per hour so if it slows it down he will not be happy but oh well. |
The same happened to Me at Publics, left my bag of meat at the self-checkout. Realized it when I got to my car and headed straight back in and not to my surprise it was gone. Went to Customer Service and they replaced everything for me at no extra charge!!

I've done this as well. I only blame myself though. I don't care if the check-out person is unhappy with me checking to see if I've forgotten anything. I've never had one give me the impression they were bothered by the 2 second interruption in their day for me to take a final look.
I've also left ground beef in the trunk of the car, having missed the bag while unloading. I don't recommend it. |
Don’t really have that issue with Kroger…delivery person rang the bell at the time I chose. Handed me a Hersey Chocolate, smiled Happy Thanksgiving. Because I usually have the same delivery person I gave him a Thanksgiving gift card. See you next week :MOJE_whot::MOJE_whot:

The bag "carousel" means he's going through the cashier line at Walmart. The OP can always use the self checkout, or tell the cashier you want to bag the groceries yourself. You can even bring re-usable bags and let them know you have them. Lots of options.
And no, they're not required to ring up any specific amount of sales, that isn't a thing. There's no quota, it's just a low-pay hourly job where they have to put up with miserable people who can't manage to pay attention when someone else is handling their groceries. |
Have never left a bag of groceries, but have left my Bride.

Cashiers and bag-fillers here have NO sense of urgency. Up north that was one of the criteria you had to fulfill in order to get a merit raise. |

I just had a great experience with Walmart (across from Colony plaza), my wife accidently left a bag of groceries at the store. She did not realize until getting ready to make the stuffing. Sends me to the store with the receipt, and I ended up with the nicest (manager?) and sales associate. I explained what happened and was able to have the items replaced. I thanked them for their understanding and all of their help (I had never been to this store) and I needed some help finding all of the items. I wish I had gotten their names. A wonderful start for the holiday.
