Default Driving from TV to The Masters

What is the preferred route to drive from TV to Augusta? I have driven between New Jersey and TV many times, usually I-95 to I-295, to I-10 to 301. A couple of times I have stayed on I-10 all the way to I-75 and taken that down to TV. So I am familiar with these routes, but there doesn't seem to be a good way to get to Augusta from either of these alternatives. What's the conventional wisdom? I will be driving from TV to Augusta to watch the Wednesday practice round this year. Thanks, GeorgeIII

I have no experience going there, but I am curious why l2ridehd recommeneded that route and based on reading his posts for a long time, there has to be a good reason. There are three routes (suggested routes left of map from link below) that googlemaps suggests which are 100+ miles and an hour + shorter. Are the others ways lousy country roads?

It seems going up I-95 into South Carolina is out of the way, but would be an easier drive. In the 80's I lived just outside of Ft. Stewart, Georgia 30 miles SW of Savannah and drove to August a few times and it only took about two hours.

From Florida I would take I-95 to Savannah and then exit onto I-16 West to exit route 67 north to Statesboro and at Statesboro join U.S. Hwy 25 north all the way to Augusta.

Thank you for the responses. I had checked Mapquest before posting, and I saw the various routes they suggested. I guess it all depends on what kind of driving I feel like doing. Perhaps to avoid the thrill of navigating Waldo, Starkey and Lawtey going up 301, I'll try going up I-75 and cutting northeast in Georgia.
