I think Cantlay was the only mistake, I would have liked to see him take Maverick McNealy.

I think not picking himself was a huge sacrifice, but in the long run, probably the right choice.

Sam Burns & Cameron Young could be the sleepers on the team. Burns' play this year has been quietly spectacular. He's probably the best Putter on the planet right now.

I agree. I definitely would have picked McNealy, but I suppose he was swayed by experience and Cantlay's play in the tour championship. Was hoping he'd pick Young---he's been playing great and has a lot of experience on Bethpage Black.

I believe that honor goes to Harry Hall currently.

The top nine players in points are on the team - the six automatic qualifiers plus Thomas at 7, Morikawa at 8, and Griffin at 9. McNealy was 10.

Young was the closest to McNealy and he was still 1704 points behind McNealy. McNealy was only 1554 points behind Thomas.

That might be true but I don’t think Keegan could have picked him.

And both players rank high in putting!

I can’t believe Rickie three putts only 1.44% of the time. My percentage is quite a bit higher!

FYI, Burns is third at 3 putt avoidance with 1.54% and Hall is fourth with 1.60%.

...bit off topic but. Must say I dislike how Keigan ALWAYS spins the club. ALL the time. Tiny irritant when watching. And Cantlay taking FOREVER to FINALLY hit the ball. nitpick.

I would pick Cantlay both because of his recent play as well as his play in Rome, where he won most of his matches. .
Public perception of him playing can sway us, but other great golfers have poor personality and are great team mates. We fans don't see him the way other PGA pros see him. .

I see this team as the best picks for the US, a good mix of young and experience.

and its just an exhibition match for fun, and for public engagement for expanding the game. . sports entertainment at its best.

The 6 picks by Keegan are better than the top 6 European players

He should've picked himself and paired with Cantlay to slow-play the Europeans to death!

I think the choice of Cantlay was based on great Xander and Cantlay play together. It takes someone special to deal with Cantlay’s slow play Xander can handle it.

Although Captain America (Keegan Bradley) is highly qualified and capable of playing, he made the right decision to Lead the team and not distract himself by competing. I'm not confident that Morikawa and Cantlay were the best Captain's picks because neither of them have been playing well consistently. Although Xander qualified for the team on points his game hasn't been very competitive over the past several months. It looks to me like the foreign team has a strong advantage for this years' Ryder Cup.

Harry Hall is a great putter, but Sam Burns is the statistically leader on the PGA Tour. #1 in Strokes Gained Against the Field. Any other putting statistic, is just a number.

Exactly the right take, in my opinion.

I think he'll partner with Xander for most matches.
