My guess is he will not.
The problem with his game in recent years has not been due to physical affliction......he lost his mojo one way or another. The back surgery is not a mojo rejuvenating/restoring process. The meteoric rise has long faded and at some point EVEN the media will come to recognize that. I particularly enjoy watching the new talents in golf without being distracted by the medias constant focus on Woods. The sooner the world updates Wood's coverage to his current and real capability of the most recent years the better for everybody. They can't just keep talking about what he used to do while ignoring his current status on the boards! |

Not a Tiger fan but have always admired his skills. I think he will return and will win again.

Tiger Woods generated a lot of payola for the golf /TV industries and they are milking it for all they are worth. Take for instance the recent Masters Tournament. One sports caster said "Now that Tiger is out who will win the masters?"Really
Many viewed this Masters as exciting and we had an opportunity to see many guys with great skills. |

I believe that an announcement was made that he intends to try to play in the British Open in July.
I think that it's becoming more obvious that his problems on the course have been due to a nagging back problem. If he can get healthy and avoid any more injuries I think that he can get to Jack's record. Sam Snead's record is almost a given. He only needs three more victories and he's only 36 years old. These days, guys play and compete well into their late forties and some even into their fifties. I often wonder if his back problems were exacerbated by the changes in swing while working with this new coach. He didn't seem to have a back problem when he worked with Hank Haney. I don't know much about Sean Foley or his philosophy regarding the golf swing, but there are some coaches that go for that Golf Tech method of restricting the hips while trying to run the shoulders as much as possible. If that is done to excess it can lead to back problems. His swing has been noticeably shorter and tighter which could be either a result of his back problems or a cause of them. Hard to tell. But more than that, I don't know if many people understand how much a bad back can affect putting. It makes it difficult to practice putting for long periods of time and it can also make it difficult to get into and stay in one's optimal posture. Once your posture is changed, you see the line differently and your stroke changes. Of course, no one knows any of this for sure. We can only speculate and hope that the best golfer int eh world will return to form and give us al the opportunity to see more history being made.

The television networks can't wait for him to be back. Ratings for the masters were down 40% from last year and that is with a very popoular bubba winning. Advertisers actually get a rebate from networks when ratings are down that much according to the golf channel.
