On Comcast channel 30 USA, Cameron Young in lead, will be reluctant to pull for ANY LIV players especially Poulter.

The HD channel is 420, but your TV may be set to automatically switch from Channel 30 to the HD channel. John Daly looks like Santa Claus.

Ditto here. Although I have come to grips with the …. Defectors…. A few weeks ago I personally thought that I could jump to LIV if I was in a position as some of those guys. Yep money talks.

That said I do find my self in the camp of “I hope that a LIV Jumper does not do well or win it all”.

I never root against anyone not named Rory Sabbatini.

Charles Barkley stated, in jest, when asked about the LIV golfers: “For 200 Million Dollars I could kill a relative, even a close one”

. A good example of why they need to end the lifetime exemption. This is why The Masters committee wrote letters asking the older champions to not play. People like John Daly, Darren Clarke and several other past champions that have zero chance of winning and probably won’t make the cut are taking spots that young players that might be competitive might have.

Think Doug Ford and The Masters

Tiger had a rough start, first birdie well into the round produced a funny moment.

LIV players should not even be allowed to play in the Open.

I am sure none of you on this board ever changed jobs for more money purely out of loyalty. LIV is just another tour with a different format. Did you all have the same problem when they started the Sr Tour. LIV appears to be for player (still professional golfers) that aren't as sharp as they were in their prime. Why not LIV?

Free agency was the end of player loyalty to teams and fans. Golf is just catching up with every other sport. Players now have options. Tom Brady is a Buccaneer.

Greg Norman being uninvited to The Open was disgraceful. The Royal and Ancient’s reaction was more like the selfish act of a spoiled child than the distinguished organization they profess to be.

Valid points. And a couple of the reasons why I had done a 180 re LIV switchers. I finally put myself in their golf shoes, and yep Money Talks. Such a good example re “normal working folks” change jobs because of $$$$. Loyalty etc etc goes just so far, especially these days.

This all said, I do hope that a non-LIV guy takes the Cup. Just sayin’.

The British Open grants past champions an exemption through age 60, with a further exemption granted for another five years for any past winner who places among the top 10.

Daly is 56.
