No. I have never cared about golf, but I admired Woods as a person and as a good sports role model for kids. Now that he has been revealed as just another phoney jock, I have lost all respect for him. I am not being judgemental, I just no longer care anything about him.

Default I'm For Tiger

Yes I'll root for him. Where he uses his putter is of no concern to me. He's played his best golf while having all these flings. Golfer yes - husband no.

(groan) But I am rooting that he gains something good from the experience. BTW, is his wife being charged with spousal abuse? Certainly if the roles were reversed he would have been charged.

I`ve always rooted for tiger in the past because of his greatest, but never did care for his atitude on the golf course with his cursing and flipping of clubs. Maybe now he will be a little more humble and clean up his private life and behavior on the course.

Personally, I think watching golf is one step below watching grass grow. However, I've followed Tiger's career since his college days (us military brats have to stick together). His morals are his own -- the only ones who should be concerned are his family. The idolization of athletes, actors and other personalities is just plain stupid. We should admire and respect their talent, their personal demons are just that -- personal.

So, yes, I will continue to be happy when Tiger wins a tournament and, at the same time, saddened that it has to be contaminated by his bad judgment. I'd be much happier never having known about his infidelities. Whether I like it or not, I know about them. They lessen him as a man, but not as an athlete.

I didn't cheer for him before this and nothing has changed in my book. I still will not cheer for him no more than I would any other athlete that has used poor judgement. He may be the greatest golfer in history but he has not proven that yet; only time will tell.

Question Ego

I have watched and been a marshall at some of the tournaments where he has played and he has been a poor example for golf. He ignores the kids waiting for autographs, has his own police escort so no one can get near him and has not been a good example for golf. Conversely, Jack Nicklas, Lee Trevino, Ben Crenshaw, Tom Watson et al could not do enough to support the fans. Jack would sign all the autographs, Lee would joke with the fans, and so on. Do I cheer for him? Only from the standpoint that I hope after he has now been caught he finds a new way to live his life and becomes a good example for golf and families. Will it happen..Time will have to tell. If he does I will cheer for him.

PLAY TO THE CROWD AND FAIL THEM.

Tiger plays ro win by staying in the zone and by using this winning approach he pleases the real fans.

Tiger has given more to young potential golfers than all others before him.

What would you call "real" fans?

I have problems with a lot of what has happened and really can't seem to accept the term "sex addiction". Player? Yes.

I am a person who enjoys pulling for someone more if I think they are a decent person.

I have lived long enough to have seen the real world and I am not easily shocked by people's sexual behavior. BUT...His relationships with other women seem excessive to me.

Yes. I will watch him, but it won't warm my heart when he wins as much as it did before.

Tiger had relationships that I also consider excessive. Isn't that why his wife made him go for help?

Let's let them work things out on their own and hope Tiger returns a new man.

God help him.

Smile Crowds

I think Jack Nicklas, Lee Trevino, Tom Watson, Ray Floyd, et al played to the crowd and they also won. There is no excuse for disrespecting the fans. The true greats did not. No one could challenge the concentration of Nicklas over a putt, or Tom Watson staring down a chip, etc. but that did not mean after the game they ignored their fans. Greatness is not just wining. It is winning with "class". These guys all had and have it.

And that is what Tiger is lacking and why he will never be as great as the above mentioned golfers. Wins only account for so much; win with class and you have truly won!

I never was a big "Tiger" fan, but with whats happened, as told in the news, I am even less impressed with him. One big problem I have with him is he is... was... a role model for many kids, and he let them down. I think he thought he was above having to follow the rules.

I have never been a Tiger fan. I will say he is an awesome golfer but his attitude stinks. He will never be in the same league as Jack, Arnie, Lee or Tom for that reason! There are many other golfers to admire. Phil Mickleson for one. He always is there for the fans young and old and gives them his time. This past weekend even though his game was not the best he could be seen signing autographs for his fans young and old alike and truly gave them his time. I admire him as a person and golfer and he is fun to watch! Tiger is like watching a robot.

I just want to watch good golf without a lot of interviews or side shows. So far I have been very disappointed in the presentations on the Golf channel and the premium channel. I don't care who plays just let me watch golf!!

Right there is not single golf player to watch. None of them have a consistent game. Tiger has a consistent game. That is the only thing going for him. Jack Nicklaus and Arnie Palmer had a consistent game. They were fun to watch

Golf is not like other sports. There are no "heroes". Just guys you like to watch. I like to watch Tiger.
