If one reads post #11 one can go to the guidelines for specific rules. One does not have to guess, or give incorrect information

Recently we attended an annual realtor thank you dinner at Pimlico. There was a bar and bar tender from a local country club. I’m sure it was all done according to the guidelines.

BYOB is allowed. But if you are supplying alcohol to serve to the group, a bartender is required. Putting cups on the table and serving yourself would fall outside of the rec department rules, assuming that the wine was supplied by one person.

Rec centers typically do not allow sharing of alcohol. Rentals fall under different rules. Check with the rec centers. Many caterers offer bartending services. The more popular caterers will know what is allowed also.

That works for me. I can't see throwing darts on a cold rainy day without a cold beer.

I have been to several parties in Rec centers where bartenders were hired. At Savannah Center, my Villages Real Estate salesman used to have a party every year for all his clients, with any drink you wanted.

"Individuals may not sell alcoholic beverages, nor may they be distributed at the event
for group consumption, without proper Florida Liquor License. If service of alcoholic beverages is authorized, the Applicant agrees to fully comply with all state and local laws and ordinances concerning the service of such beverages." Based on this part of the rules, I think that is the 'licensed' the OP was referring to. It would seem they either are already authorized or know what will be required to be authorized. This part of the rules would also explain the post about events with a bartender from one of the Country Clubs, because if the service was provided by the CC, they would hold the valid Florida liquor license. I don't think the OP will find an independent bartender who will fit the bill. |

I have used Pam Greer in the past. She is licensed and insured and did a great job for me at a birthday party held at Laurel Manor. She worked with me to help me determine how much alcohol I should purchase. Give her a call, 352-239-2862 or email: pgreer1954@gmail.com. She is very responsive.
