Default Good news about Athens

While enjoying Athens Labor Day special cookout today, I heard from the owner that they will soon have an outside bar. Construction starts tomorrow. It will run all along the Del Mar side of the restaurant.

It will be an outdoor bar; not something Spanish Springs really has.

Katie Belle's could have an outside bar but only serve card carrying residents.

Thought Luigino's had outside seating, but don't remember ever noticing a bar there. I could be wrong. Regardless, I'm thrilled that Athens is doing well enough to grow. I've seen a lot of restaurants try to succeed there and fail miserably. When Athens first opened, no one gave it long, either. It has now been three years and the place is thriving thanks to reasonable prices, good food and good service. So, cheers for them and the new bar they are building.

I love Athens with or without a bar, but then, I don't drink!!

I'd rather hear that they are planning another place in Brownwood or Colony.

Athens is one of my favorite places to eat in TV, and I am glad to hear they are doing well. I am looking forward to eating there next month.

Just think -- it gives you an excuse to come up to the prettier side of TV and it really is a nice golf cart ride.

We have breakfast every Sunday at Athens. Half hour golf cart ride. You're right about Spanish Springs. I like the matured look of the north side of TV. As far as we are concerned there are more places for breakfast there. Second would be LSL and then Brownwood has zero places for breakfast and apparently none on the drawing board.
