Default Arnold Palmer restaurant

Is four over par heading into the drink. Had dinner tonight. Ordered Caesar salad with grilled shrimp. Hubby got the $18 pork chop dinner.
My waitress was sweet and young. The shrimp on my salad were cold..... Not a hint of grilling... Salad was sparse and smooshy. I sent it back and got the same salad back with shrimp warmed a pinch. NEVER, EVER AGAIN.
Hubby's pork chop was LESS than 1/2 inch thick and doused with pepper as were the mashed spuds.
So, for $53, we came home and ate pb&j. By the way, we had soft drinks. No etoh.
Plainly speaking, it sucked.

I am going to defend them Roni, because we really enjoy their food. I think that no matter what fine quality is usually enjoyed, or what medium quality, in any restaurant, there are days that the MAIN cook is off, or the help didn't show up. Or the real good cook is on vacation.

I am so sorry this happened. I would go over and talk to the manager. I KNOW you aren't a person who likes to fuss, but that just sounds like something the manager should know.

Sorry you had such a bad meal. That's why hubbie and I have lunch there (which they do very well) and not dinner.

I agree with Gracie. Every restaurant has an off day here and there. You might try giving it one more chance.

Good example of what businesses have to endure dealing with the public
Especially this establishment. They probably serve hundreds of covers a day 7 days a week with out praise of quality and service
Yet one off meal and it happens in the best of restaurants and it happens to all of us at one time or another and patrons can't post here fast enough expressing their displeasure

Why attack someone who simply was sharing their experience. There are time that contrary opinions are not necessary, this was one of them.

I Agree...Had two bad meals in a row at Palmer. Spoke with manager both times and they acted like they could care less. Posted it here and I was the bad guy for sharing the experience. I guess the do gooders only want to hear what they think!

I agree also, if people don't write in about their experiences, good or bad, we won't have differing opinions which is what this is all about. Also, if one person writes a bad review, and 5 more follow, we know there is a trend and maybe want to stay away. But, if others write in in defense, like Gracie did, then we know to give it a chance. If you want to write in in praise of them, do so, but don't critizise someone else because they didn't have a good experience and want to share it and get opinions.

Everyone is allowed to have a say, but attacking someone, even by ending around a personal attack by categorizing them as a group, is not right. All the yays and nays are helpful to hear, IMO.

Well, it's the old story . . .
You ask ten people's opinion you'll get 10 different responses.

I will tell you one thing: Arnold Palmer has the best Lobster bisque -- and I mean the best.
If you get a bowl (it's huge) of that an an appetizer you are done; that's all you need.

Wonderful servers, not better than the ones all around The Villages, but they wear snazzy ties at Arnold Palmer.

Speaking of wonderful servers, does anyone know if Jen at Cane Garden had her baby? What a wonderful, hard working girl.
