Default Back to Evans Prairie

We went back to Evans Prairie tonight after our bad experience Yesterday. Well I'm happy to say they exceeded our expectations. The steak was done right, the service was excellent, and my wife's dinner was also excellent. Now maybe they tried hard because the manager recognized us right away, but either way they proved they can do it. We will go back.

You did it the right way, including coming back here to report the results.

We were at Evans Prairie this evening and had a very enjoyable dinner. We were seated promptly and had a great waiter. The food was very good and everyone was pleasant.

Just got back from dinner at Evans Prairie.
We both had the steak and shrimp. Done just right , very tasty, good service. Chris at the bar is terrific, waiter was good and the manager is a very personable guy.
Wish the steak were a bit larger but definitely a thumbs up !

Thanks for the report.... We didn't have bad food... just poor service. Maybe with enough people talking to the manager they figured it out! Anyway... I hope the good service continues as we have always enjoyed eating there.

Glad you went back and tried them again and glad the experience was a good one.

Yes, in your previous thread, you did say that you ordered the Filet Med Rare. My eye did not pick up on the "Med" as being "Medium" which led me to my unfair posting. My apologies.

They try hard. We were driving around with friends in our golf cart yesterday and showing them around as they were here looking for homes. It was hot and we had been out for a long time and the wife had a low sugar spell and we were close to Evans Prarie and we went inside so she could sit in the cool for a moment and explained to the hostess what was happening and asked if she could get her something for her low sugar and the hostess brought her something immediatly. We weren't seated, the rest of us didn't eat. They payed for the item and we all thanked the hostess warmly.

We have eaten there three times and enjoyed it.

I think...that it is decent food and service for the not too expensive prices, usually.

I think that it is very likely that some of the trained staff has gone to staff the new restaurant across from Brownwood, O'Sheas.

I think...that each day poses a new problem for local restaurants and their staffing. Sometimes people don't show up etc.etc.etc.

I think that it is a real issue for the very low wage positions and I think it is not that different anywhere else.

I think that with the new law where every restaurant owner must pay for health benefits that service and menu prices will go up.

Haven't read the entire thread, but I must say that my husband loves the salmon @ EP.....he had it a few times and raves about it. I, on the other hand have eaten there twice and was very disappointed both times. I was in the mood for meatloaf and it and the mashed potatoes and vegetables were so salty (I cook with salt), I had to take the ice out of my drink to make it edible.........

My first visit to Evans Prairie was Tuesday night. Had a burger with bleu cheese, bacon and mushrooms. It was very good, and I will definitely return to Evan Prairie.
