I think Culver’s has very good fish & chips. Nicely breaded cod, fries & cole slaw.

Its just as filthy on the inside as it looks from the outside. But the food is very good.

In nearby Leesburg, Captain D's Seafood has a special deal for seniors only on Wednesday and Sunday. You can get their two piece Battered Fish Dinner with two sides and a large drink for $6.49. The battered fish filets do not have that strong fishy taste or smell. Malt Vinegar and Tartar sauce are provided with your order. The French fries and coleslaw are both good and each order gets two hush puppies as well. It's probably one of the best deals for seniors that are on a limited budget and many prefer the mild taste of the fish filets.

You heard right. Last restaurant inspection (7/24/25) had 15 violations, including ROACHES. Went there once, and the floors were sticky when walking in the restaurant. Their reviews on various sites are full of 5 star reviews from people without multiple inputs. Hmmm. Restaurant upkeep involves your health.

Beginning part of excerpt from database from a weekago:

Inspector's Note
Basic - Ceiling/ceiling tiles/vents soiled with accumulated food debris, grease, dust, or mold-like substance. Ceiling throughout back kitchen area soiled. **Repeat Violation**
Basic - Dead roaches on premises. One in the corner of cook line.

More violations on website...stay safe people.

Coastal del Mar has fresh fish, but they're very expensive and you wouldn't really go there for fried food. They're more of an upscale seafood restaurant. They do have fried fish - it just wouldn't be my first choice.

No idea if Lighthouse's fried fish comes in fresh or frozen but it's pretty good. I imagine their grouper is likely fresh, since it's a warm-water animal. Their northern ocean fish comes in frozen.

Seafood Shack in Leesburg, 470 (48) and 27.

Small place, with outstanding food, including fish and chips.

Just do not sit outside. If you do expect to be devoured by mosquitoes

I mean, who can turn down the chance to try something world-famous in it's place of origin? On the plus side the fish (Haddock) was so big it hung over both sides of the plate. It was a big plate, and it came piping hot. The "chips" though were like none I had ever seen: like little bricks maybe 1.5 inches long and a bit on the soggy side, and the entire dish was somewhat lacking in seasoning. Price was good, as I recall about 18 pounds per plate.

It was good. But great? Well...
We used to frequent the Mayfair Chippy but last summer we stayed at the Churchill and ate at the Golden Hind. WOW! If you get back to London, do try it.

I’m not big fish eater, I like catching them but very rarely eat them. Same with seafood. But I won’t pass up long John’s silvers or Captain D’s. Use to like McD fish sandwich until they started using month old buns. McD has the worst buns of any restaurant I even been in. Not like it was 40 years ago when buns was delivered fresh from local bread company like Wonder or Rainbow.

I’m surprised still commercial fish business being oceans are being dredged clean with Hugh fishing boat that can dredge 4 plus football fields of ocean at once and waste half catch of species they don’t want.

If you don't mind a little drive, the Yellow Pony at the equestrian center has excellent fish and chips.
