Deceptive Menu at First Watch
I think it is very deceptive and wrong for First Watch to publish and advertise a menu that has all items priced, except the beverages. You can order a breakfast there for a fixed price, but watch out if you want a cup of coffee with your meal. The coffee is $2.79 plus tax and tip. But, you won't find that price on the menu. The menu says you get a pot of coffee, but I don't think you can share it with someone. I don't know of any restaurant in The Villages that charges that much for coffee.

The goal of any retail business is to get as much money as possible out of their patrons, but I agree if it’s not free like water, it should be listed on the menu. I have traveled all over the world and America is guilty of this type of deception more than any other country I have been to.

A lot of restaurants do that nowadays. Drinks must be a high-margin money-maker for them.

We frequently eat at First Watch. Excellent food. As for the coffee, they bring the pot to the table, pour your coffee (for two if there are two of you) and then leave the pot on the table for you to finish.
As for deceptive pricing ..... I don't think that applies. If you go to any restaurant their price for the meal, as in breakfast for instance, is listed on the menu and then anything more than the meal you order is extra. Cracker Barrel prices their foods on the menu, all drinks and sides are extra.

Tough to say when you're washing it down with Villagers' Lemon-aid (water, lemon and all the sweet and low you can handle).

ChiTown: The food is EXCELLENT, the service is EXCELLENT, the restaurant is clean, the tables are plenty big enough, the prices are EXCELLENT, and we love it. However, if you sit at a table instead of a booth the seats of the chairs are a slab of wood and they are very unforgiving on your rear end! Ask for a booth.
We were there just yesterday and I had a half sandwich and a small cup of tomato bisque soup for $7.45. Coffee pot was extra

I have to order water with meals. Many seniors have sensitive stomachs. I would much prefer to order tea, soda or wine, but simply can not.
So, thank you, but no go fund page necessary!

$2.79 for a pot of coffee sounds like a bargain compared to those getting taken at Starbucks, haha

Anytime we ate breakfast at first watch the 2 of us had a pot coffee we shared and were only charged the 2.79. We had plenty of coffee.

According to First Watch, the $2.79 charge for coffee is per person, not per pot. So, two people cannot share a pot of coffee. But, my issue with the restaurant is not the price, but the fact that they apparently don't want the customer to know the price, so they omit it from the menu. Most other breakfast restaurants, like Cracker Barrel and Bob Evans don't hide their prices.
