Default Bonifay

Last night my wife, my son, and I went for dinner at Bonifay. I ordered Chicken Cordon Bleu and after eating about half of it I noticed that the chicken inside was raw. I'm not sure whether the chicken that I ate was also raw. I called the waiter over and the manager came to our table. He apologized for this and wanted to know whether I wanted anything else. At this point I had eaten enough and my wife and son had almost finished their meals (Chicken parm and tortellini) so I declined. I don't know whether he would have given me something else without charging for it. In any case they removed the Chicken Cordon Bleu from my bill. Fortunately I haven't had any bad reaction from eating raw chicken.

Just wanted to post this info.

John

I'm sorry your chicken was not cooked. We also ate at Bonifay last night with friends, and all our meals were wonderful. Hubby also had the Chicken Cordon Bleu and said it was the best he had eaten.

They did appear to be very busy last night.

Default Bonifay

Went to Bonifay for a few brews and a Burger today. Found out the bar manager is gone and the Happy Hour is changed again. New hours are now from 2-5 PM. People who heard of the change weren't happy. Sounds like another club close to the area. Always changing !

Bonifay had the best happy hour for beer around - good variety of decent beer for half price. When we went on Monday, some of the better beers were no longer included in HH. Maybe in a few weeks when the snowbirds are gone, they will revert to their old policy.

I was amazed at how empty the place was at 4:30. While this is on the early side, some of the other CCs are getting very crowded at that time this time of year.

A far as food quality is concerned, we had the pot roast ... never again - it was not very good.

Considering we bought in Bonifay and considering we were going to be doing a lot of eating out, this is not great news. It sounds like they gave it their all for the opening and then just took away all the bells and whistles once they thought they had established their presence. I hope they figure this out and it doesn't become a dismal disappointment rather than a consistently great experience.

Default Bonifay was very good tonight!

We were part of a group of thirty at Bonifay tonight. Because we were a large group, they gave us a one-page limited menu but everyone was happy with their meals. Service was excellent. We had crab & corn chowder, fish & chips, and grilled tilapia. Bonifay was pretty busy tonight. When things slow down in April, it will be interesting to see if they bring back their happy hour. They were out of Sammy on tap, but they had Guinness and Bass ale on tap tonight.

First time to Bonifay CC tonight, and it was awful... We should have known to walk out when a waiter and waitress started bickering just a few feet from us as to who's table it was. It took them about 10 minutes to figure it out. Waitress finally took our order... The place was nearly empty, but it took them 20 minutes to get us two cups of soup. The bread we had asked for from the get go, came 10 minutes later when we were done with our soups / appetizer. Now we wait, and wait, and wait... And 40-45 minutes from having placed our order, the two chicken Cesar salads arrived. By then, we were so annoyed , that we had lost our appetite...but went ahead and attempted to eat. The chicken on one was hot, and ice cold on the other. Needless to say, we'd had enough...complained to the waitress, who brought back John, the Manager on duty...he was very apologetic, and didn't charge us for the soups. It wasn't all bad...we had live entertainment all along. Yep, waiters / waitresses climbing up on chairs, and booths to clean all the lighting fixtures around us... Insane!

We had dinner there last night with 12 folks and EVERY meal/Drink was served perfectly by Kevin. Each meal was raved about and we had a marvelous time. We ate outdoors on a perfect night......

Default Bonifay

We experienced a bad meal ourselves at Bonifay several weeks ago
My meal was supposed to have garlic mash potatoes and it didn,t. Instead it had rice. When I called this to the attention of the waitress, she said that I was wrong. Later, upon checking the menu again, my meal that I ordered showed that it was supposed to have garlic mash potatoes. My wife also ordered filet mignon, well done, and it was very rare.
Conculsion- forget Bonifay

We have had lunch there twice while visiting and everyone enjoyed their meals.
Once inside and once outside.

Took a look inside bonifay for the first time the other day. I did not like the decor and based on this thread will write it off my list. IMHO Palmers still has the best country club decor

Tried Bonifay on several occasions, both for lunch and dinner. Service was terrible every time. Prices on our bill were not the same as on the menu. We were told that they have to go by the prices on the computer. Manager told us the same thing. Never again. They also have the most uncomfortable chairs in the world, no matter how many cushions they give you.

Do the restaurants get any feedback that they aren't giving good service, etc? Do they lease the premises? So that if they don't deliver, they leave and another group comes in to try to make it successful?
