Default Breakfast at Havana

Has anyone else experienced problems at Havana for breakfast?

This morning my husband and I went to Havana for breakfast. The hostess served us coffee and took our order. Approximately 20 minutes later a waitress came and asked us if we had been waiting long. We told her that yes we had been and she told us she was sorry but the kitchen was in a mess and if she said anything to them it would only get worse. She was sorry for our wait. We told her we would like a coffee refill while we waited and that was the last we saw of her. We continued to wait about 20 minutes longer and began to notice that people around us that arrived after us were being served. We finally just ended up walking out of the restaurant as no one ever came back to our table so we could even ask if our order was lost. In all we were in the restaurant about 40 to 45 minutes and were never served a breakfast.

The people at the table across from us left disgusted after their breakfast was served cold. They indicated to us when they were leaving that they hoped we would have a better experience. Unfortunately, we did not.

I have never walked out of a restaurant before so this is a new experience to me. The hostess in attentive to her duties, the wait staff did not seem to care if customers were taken care of and while we were there at least 20 people chose to not wait for service. This is a poor example of restaurants we should expect in the Villages.

This is a restaurant I will make sure to avoid in the future and also will tell everyone I know to skip as well.

Another anti-restaurant posting from a short term (4) poster. Can it be believed as happening or just someone with an ax to grind?

Personally and after many visits, I believe Havana has major management, training, and culinary issues. I'm no expert in this business but changes need to be made there.

Personally I don't know how they keep the doors open! After several visits we just gave up! Won't be going back until we hear it is truly under new management!

We were there yesterday as well, not very crowded but a mess - it appears that there is no one in charge - there were about 15 people waiting to be seated and no hostess - looking forward to new management!

I am really Amused by individuals who actually go to this place #1 and complain about it #2, for the life of me the Reputation alone should be enough.

But here is the Kicker they keep going BACK !! I shake my head in total amazement, WHY !!

Haven't had the breakfast experience, but have had a couple bad experiences with the bartenders at night....One of them tall with long black hair told me on two occasions that I could not save seats even though I told her my friends were parking the car....How rude!!!!

So the OP is more believable after 355 posts? Who doesn't know to stay away from Havana? Guess the OP now knows.

Personally, I think this concern with first time posters (or short term posters) negatively commenting on restaraunts is overblown. Especially when we see a trend of similar comments about a particular establishment. Keep in mind that IF a person has a particularly bad experience at a local business, they may sincerely feel it important to let the community know about it... as a bit of advice. If it happens to be their first post here, perhaps they haven't yet read any reviews about it here on TOTV....they just moved in or just went looking for a place get the word out.

We all know Havana has had ...ah..."mixed reviews". In regards to the other recent highly commented on first post regarding Mezza Luna...may I just suggest that we as group not judge too soon. While it is always possible that we don't have all the facts, it is also possible that there is an agenda at play. I'd like to see us take the high road...

" Havana " Mixed reviews ? You have got to be kidding, the place is a disaster, with hardly mixed reviews. The vast majority of comments have been negative, plus some patrons have actually gone back only to be punished again, and again.

Even the singing waiters, waitress's talented (very ) are a loud, annoying nuisance. Hopefully Lights Out Havana , Gordon Ramsey, over to you.

Well, I was trying to be positive by using the phrase "mixed reviews". There have been some folks who have said they enjoyed Havana and the singing servers.

BUT, apparently, I didn't make my point well. The focus of my post was not how good or bad the experience at Havana is, rather that there have been numerous negative reviews of Havana, so a first time poster writting a negative review about Havana is not "flamed" here, but a first time poster writing a negative review of a place others have enjoyed is criticized, seemingly only because it was his/her first...or 4th post.
