"Big City Grill" used to. Also had a Chicago style hot dog among other things. Started with 1 location at SS where Athens is now and opened another where NYPD is now.
fell on hard times and closed. Started out pretty good but ...

Aside from that, none that I know of on the campus.

You might check out Stavros or Naples.

It's funny that you posted this question as we (O'Shea's Sports Pub) are currently adding one to our upcoming menu. Our owner made them for the Chicago Club during the Stanley Cup Finals and they were greatly received. If you would like to give us a call we could arrange a preview for you and you can tell us what you think.

We Chicagoans/Chicago area people know our Italian beef sandwiches. Ask a former Chicagoan about Portillo's Italian beef.

Big City's Italian Beef wasn't very good.
(They opened first where NYPD is now and then the Athens location - one of the best spots in TV for a good restaurant)

I'll check out O'Shea's Sports Pub when we get back in October (doesn't sound very Italian tho).

Back in the day - the best Italian Beef was from a place in Roseland called Pementie's (sp).

Wow.....you guys are great! How much more responsive can a business get than offering to make something special for a potential customer!

I passed Luigino's in Spanish Springs yesterday and they were advertising an Italian Beef lunch special. I don't know if they always have it on their menu but you could try there.

Here is a quick and easy way to make Italian Beef Sandwiches. Get a McCormick Brand Italian Herb Grinder from the spice aisle, a box of beef broth, 1 pound of thin sliced beef from the Deli, a bell pepper and some hard rolls. Put the broth in a sauce pan and season to taste, add the sliced peppers and cook until the peppers are soft. Reduce the heat and just add the beef to warm it up, don't boil the beef, it will get like rubber. I put the rolls in the oven to warm them and make the crust harder. It's not Portello's, but it aint bad either!

Love the name. Thank you for the information. And remember, if you are from Chicago you do NOT put ketchup on your hot dog.

I went to a Twins ball game in Minneapolis years ago and I was shocked at the ketchup on hot dogs! Can you imagine ketchup on a Vienna hot dog, yuk!

Dear Lord, please help those people up in Minnesota who put ketchup on their Vienna hot dogs.

Default Italian Roast Beef Coming To O'Sheas

We at O'Shea's Sports Pub are premiering an Italian Beef Sandwich Thursday night in hopes people will enjoy them enough to carry on Sundays for football. True, it is not part of our theme, but our owner (from the Chicago area) made them for the Stanley Cup, to rave reviews. He has been asked many times to make them again and felt the upcoming football season was a perfect time. Considering other regional sandwich ideas as well.
