Default Cheng's is by far the best Chinese food

available in TV. I am Chinese and I am always looking for good authentic Cantonese food, which is the style I grew up with. We have gone to all the buffets around the area and the various take outs. I love a good buffet and there was one in Macon, but closer to TV I recommend Cheng's. We had the Peking Duck (which we called ahead -15 min- for) and it was really tasty. Also had the vegetable lo-mein. Have eaten there before and have always had a good meal.

Have also eaten at Bamboo Bistro which was good but I prefer the Thai fusion style there. Wish there was a good buffet in TV.

In the small strip plaza on the north side of CR 466
In front of the "new" Walmart
Close to McDonalds Golden Arches
Next door to a Nail Salon

(Sorry, my husband says I give directions like a girl)

Definitely the best as far as quality of food. Also, it's nice to be served. Complete carry out menu with half portions. A hint: if you want more meat or shrimp just say less vegetables.

Default question

Do you know if they are MSG free??? or if one can get dishes prepared wiithout MSG?

I have not had Chinese in TV because of the MSG issue...can't find a Chinese restaurant which could assure me no MSG.

I get violently ill if I partake.

I agree Cheng's is the best around. Eaten there several times and the food has always been good.

yo-Russ If the avatar is accurate, I guess new is relative. By the way, did you see that Bob Kraft is entertaining Steve Wynn this weekend??

Didn't mean new to the world - I've lost a few more follicles since that pic!

Patriot Place is very close to my old house but I would have been very much in favor of it (i.e. 1 of 3 casinos to be build in MA). (Of course to be fair by son works for Mohegan and may be able to move back to MA if they put it in).

Ordered take-out from Cheng's last night. Shrimp with Black Bean Sauce was excellent. We ordered it spicy. Will definitely be going back.

Same here.....went to a Chinese restaurant a few weeks ago in TV to hopefully pick up some carry out. (can't remember name of...only that it was next to hair salon in strip center) Asked if they had MSG. Girl at front said "absolutely none". She then brought out the container of Chicken base they use for a great deal of offerings.....guess what? Yup... monosodium glutamate. If anyone knows of a place msg free...please pass it along.
